I am certainly not asking how the effect works, but on the Mikame Craft Prediction Board, it says there are no forces as in the Joe Lefler's Supreme Slate Of Mind (of which I do own one). I also have a very nice teak wood dry erase regular mental epic. In the picture of the Mikame Craft Prediction board, I was noticing that unlike the Supreme Slate Of Mind, the predictions are written in the same color, so I am assuming that they must work differently than each other. If anyone owns the Mikame Craft Version, could you just let me know if you think it's better in method than the Supreme Slate Of Mind, comparable, the same or what. Thanks!

I just purchased Supreme Slate of Mind from a Café member (haven't received it yet) and all I know is that it isn't supposed to require a force. Does yours require a force? I won't know the method until I get to see mine (I'm out of town and it's probably waiting for me in the post office when I get back). I'll be curious myself to see the responses you get here. I'm not familiar with the Mikame effect except that I've found in the past their products are well made and some are very clever. I recently learned the method of the Mikame Sucker Die Box and it's ingenious, in my opinion. But also be careful of Mikame knockoffs. I got burned a few months back on a set of Mikame Chinese sticks and they were absolutely 100% phony. I sent them back and the dealer was a bit embarrassed when I pointed out the discrepencies between the knockoff and the real thing. Best, Bob

Well without revealing the method of the Supreme Slate of Mind, I can tell you this: No, it doesn't require any force at all. I am happy with mine and seems that everyone who owns one is happy. I was just wondering if there was even a better no force method out there with the Mikame Prediction Board.

Hi,
I have created a mental prediction board.in my opinion it is the best one.Not only it requires no force but it also allows the magician firstly to write all 3 predictions and then write all 3 spectator's answers.this can be done with different colors on predictions and answers.finally , the board uses paper than can be removed and given to the spectator after the trick in order to prove than only one paper is used.
you can show it here www.youtube.com/watch?v=pODK9Lmx5h8
please press button "cc" to change subtitles from greek to english.
it will go for 250-300.please tell me if you would buy it.
if not how much money you would give for it?

thanks

p.s. the final model will be wooden

So, can anyone chime in on Russel's original question about Mikame's version? I've since received my Supreme Slate of Mind Russel, and I love it. Am also curious to see what others think about the Mikame Prediction Board.

This looks like the Supreme Slate of Mind to me. Actually it looks like it has been ripped off from Joe Lefler. If you look close, the Board looks the same. I just purchased a Brand New within the last 4-weeks from Joe and I have compared it on-line to MIKAME and it looks exactly the same even down to the cut-outs in the wood. I cannot say that it is a Knock-Off but it sure looks like one.

The method is almost identical. The Mikame board is easier to handle because it is smaller, but the feature that makes a force unnecessary does not have the assistance of a spring. Thus the operation requires more effort.

Is the supreme slate of mind just a no force mental board or has it got some differences with the other boards because its price is higher than the other?
if I remember well I have read that you can write all 3 prediction before the answers.is it real?

Supreme Slate of Mind is purely a no force board! It's genius. Slick moving, quiet and that's about all I can say about it here. Better discussed in the Secrets Forum, when you get to fifty posts.....and even then, more appropriately in PMs if someone will offer it up to you. But the quality, hand-made Joe Lefler prop and effect are worth every penny. This from a novice at mentalism. Best, Bob

I am looking at getting the Mikame version but could someone please answer this:
In the demo an apparent mis-call/mistake is made during the third prediction. Does this scenario have to be played-out everytime the effect is performed?
If risking exposure, a pm would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

Maybe this will help,
I've most of them starting with the original Mental Epic, just never liked having to force a card...
I had Supreme slate but it was too noisy so I sent it back. Had it narrowed down to Mikame and Astor, but didn't like that the Astor couldn't show all 6 answers at the end, then I got the Mikame, slick, very quiet and I also thought the mis-call would be a problem but so far every time I've used it, it works great, good acting I guess...
I made a good choice and am very happy with my choice because it really is a total No force, they can pick any answer they want...
Hope this helps some...

the one time I saw it performed this element was part of it, and appeared to be necessary

The mis-call is a good piece of showmanship and, when played right, gets very good audience reaction. What hasn't been mentioned in these posts is the fact that the board can be handed to an audience member without worry of exposure. It locks.

Success to all.

Without giving away the workings of the boards, you can't really say the Mikame board is very quiet compared to the Supreme Slate of Mind as the method of re-positioning of the p----s is different. If you prefer (and I don't see why you would) you could operate the Supreme Slate the same as the Mikame and it would be quiet too. The mikame s-----g p----s are re-positioned by H--d whereas the Supreme Slate works by t---ing the board (think Sir Isaac Newton). Doing this with the Mikame won't accomplish the action. The Astor does have the same action as the Supreme Slate, but not being able to show all 6 answers at the end could be an issue. Now, if I only had a way to eliminate the noise of the Supreme Slate.... Any suggestions?

The Ambitious Card has it for at least $20.00 less than I have seen it elsewhere http://www.theambitiouscard.com/mSearchResults.cfm?criteria=prediction+board&GO=GO%21. They are also nice friendly people to deal with.

Just purchased the Mikame Craft Prediction Board and the Mikame Craft Magic Mirror.

Unfortunately both included instructions in Japanese!

I consulted with the dealer and apparently his entire stock has nothing but Japanese instructions.

That said, if anyone who could help me obtain some English intructions for both effects I would be very grateful. Please feel free to PM me or send me an email at: stevebrooks@themagiccafe.com

Thanks!

I would like to see this prop built with just a whiteboard where I draw the grid and my predictions are covered with post-it notes.

Go ahead, if anyone can do it, you can!

This trick has been done in many different ways. Rero Magic put out several versions, one just using note cards. I should have collected all the different versions back then, but I didn't. Never thought Repro and Tannens would tank.
