Does anyone know if the circular curtain has an official name? It's something that I've seen people use for Metamorphosis and also something I've seen escape artists and quick change artists use. Basically I think it's circular section of PVC pipe with a drapery around it. The magician stands in the middle and an assistant or spectator raises the curtain thus covering the magician from all sides. He can then quick change or escape or whatever. I'm going to make my own but I was wondering if these are for sale anywhere and also if it has a name. Thanks!

I call mine a Hula hoop and Shower Curtain. It's good for ceertain stand up escapes, but not for Metamorphosis. Then I used to rely on wood frame (or PVC pipe) and up to 4 shower curtains to get the size needed.

I have never heard of a name for the curtain used with sub-trunks and the like. Rarely, I have seen a circle, most of the time tha large ones are square or rectangle.
Hopefully a person from the illusion section will see this question and chime in.

The real question is What do you want?
do you want one to buy or do you want to know how to make one?
to buy one contact George Kimmery at challet magic ask him to make you a subtrunk curtain jsut tell him how tall and wide you want it and he can do it.
if you want ot know how to make one first we need to know what you want it for. you can make them cheap and light or you can go heavy and last a life time.
I have several one geaorge custom made fo rme fo rmy subtruk illuson and another I made for my gypsy rope tie illusion.
hope we can help you.

It is officially called a "Mini-Cyclo Drape," but few manufacturers or dealers are familiar with the term.

Awesome! Thanks so much. I did a google search on this term and nothing came back. How did you come by that knowledge? I was just curious. Headed out to buy my PVC pipe this evening or tomorrow.

True story! I just logged on a few minutes ago and the first topic I read was in the Grand Illusion section under the “ Jim Stienmeyer web site” topic. It featured a gem of a response about ATA case sizes????,that really left me shaking my head! Now this was the second topic I checked out, and after a few more moments of head shaking, I’m not sure I want to continue.

So I've almost finished construction on my mini-cyclo drape. Looks absolutely amazing and has cost me about 60 dollars in materials (plus I have to do a free show for my seamstress since she did the work for free...ugh - haha). I'll post a pic sometime soon, if possible.

I am guessing you fell for a fake term, but I wanted to find one too.

Here's a variation of a curtain that is held by spectators for a non sub trunk routine, without the ring. Look for "The Curtain of Death":

I made a "Cyclo Drape" once for a Karrell Fox routine, I used 2 of the large Hula Hoops. It was great, but he illusion fell flat, like the drape when it fell to the floor.
