Iain, true.
My friend got a copy of the first UI and was very disappointed. Having seen his and another magician UI in action, I would agree with him. Not only Parapad uses another "color" stuff... but its sensitivity is the highest I have ever seen. Plus, the "clinging principle" (so dear to me because of the X-Rays Pad) Thomas and Rainer employ is a beauty in and out of itself.

I only bought it cos I wanted to put it in docc's serpent wallet...but no fear of that working any time soon, and docc's wallet is thiiiiiiiiin....
anyway, back to the parapad - its the little touches that make it so good... oh and yes, before anyone says anything, yes I paid for both UI and my parapad... but the paper that doesn't bleed through especially made me grin...the whole set up looks classy...and y'know, it doesn't take a genius to divide the page up into 3s and get more bang for your buck as it were...think of it as a solo 4DT kinda thing... or if you do use 3 people, they all use the one sheet, the last person rips the page out and into 3, each takes an envelope and so forth...nice and clean and simple and plenty of opportunity to get "what you need" too... I still love my riggs stuff obviously...but there's room in my heart for this sneaky little devil too...

I've played around with Psypher (UI2) and was not impressed. Pardon the pun.
The results are inconsistent and muddy. Not something that I'd bet my reputation on. I never saw UI1, but if Psypher was supposed to be an upgrade, then I can only imagine it not being so hot. -rob |

I stand corrected. Sounds like the ParaPad is top notch.

I wonder if Thomas and Rainer are going to release some PAROUTINES for their ParaPad in the near future...
Ultimately it's their choice but, if they do, I'll happily offer my SPLICE to them.

Splice is a supreme effect LOTH.....
But, purely for thread hijacking purposes (which is something I enjoy once in a while)..... ......you guys should all get excited about the ParaWave (sorry if this is the wrong time Thomas, but I feel the Paralabs outfit should get "more" positive exposure here) Kam
If I speak forth, many a mind will shatter,
And if I write, many a pen will break. .....and when I consider my own self, lo, I find it coarser than clay! |

Kam... I did not want to mention ParaWave (if you mean the same Parawave I have in mind) but since you did...
I have some of my own ideas to get a customized ParaWave (we'll see if they are possible...)

PAROUTINES did some one say PAROUTINES from Thomas and Rainer That would be very cool. I also want to say the sensitivity on this pad is superior to the rest I have seen.

My usual, state-of-the-art pre-show device failed me tonight (again). I'm sending it to a dark, secret hell where bad imps belong. When the device works, it's great, but I'm tired of asking participants for their help then failing to give them the satisfaction they deserve for their time and work.
The next, hopeful stop in my journey will be in the land of the ParaPad.

Off topic
SPLICE is an effect - or should I better say "tool" or "concept" - Paolo came up with; not published yet. ParaWave is a device that we introduced to some colleagues; not offered publicly too. It might well be that it will never be released discretionary but only as an exclusive tool for particular requests. I realize that this "explanation" clarifies rather nothing. But we don't want to promote something that won't be available in public anyway - from where we stand, ... Sorry! Best Th. |

Since a few days now I own the ParaPad (the smaller edition which I prefer) and I've to say that it is indeed by far the best product (using this technique) I ever had in my hands. I do know and have and tried a lot, if not all on the market.
This is for several reasons: The used materials are the best you can get, it is extremely easy to replace paper, the very clever design of the pad allows a very natural handling. The impression you get is very clear, there is no risk that the spectator will discover anything (provided a correct handling of course). Therefore I've to give it my highest recommendation. Jan
