Houdini--the Key by Patrick Culliton is a 460 pp, 165,000 word textbook; with 941 illustrations, an index and 1200 notes.
It traces Houdini's performances from his very beginning until his death. Often, his original patter is included. The book deals with the inventors of some of Houdini's greatest escapes and illusions: Montraville Wood (the Milk Can), Charles Morritt (Hello Summer and The Vanishing Elephant), Dr. Joseph Waitt (the Plate Glass Box, the Wicker Basket), Billy Russell (the Paper Bag escape), Bert Clark (the Iron Boiler), Jimmy Collins (the Water Torture Cell) and others. This is a limited signed edition of 278 books, each book in a slipcase. The book is available for the next 2 1/2 weeks at the pre-publication price of $160 + 12 (US shipping). At that time, the books will start to go out and the price will jump to $195 + 12. My email and my paypal account are the same: pkcull@aol.com You can buy the book by paypal for 172 or at least get on the list to buy. |
