I like to see magic being done anywhere. When I see it and can get away with it, I'll take a photo of the deed as surreptitiously as I can...

Here is my latest acquisition: a guy doing a "find a card" type trick. He wasn't half bad, either...

Rags make paper,
Paper makes money,
Money makes banks,
Banks make loans,
Loans make beggars,
Beggars make...
...rags

More accurately, I should have described this as a "you do as I do" type of trick.

Loans make beggars,
Beggars make...
...rags

He couldn't have been too good. His lady friend is getting whiplash from checking out the young guy walking past! LOL

Latest random magic: a fellow came into the bar and tried to hustle some pool, obviously not knowing the caliber of players at our place. Well, he didn't win much, but he spun a pretty good yarn about his palm reading and fortune, telling ability (obviously he was unaware of my own talents in that arena... )

So! He whips out some garden variety cold reading tripe. I play along. He must have felt pretty good about this, because he launched into an elementary psychological force:
I helped him out by obliging him the correct answers. I could tell he was a "real" fortune-teller because throughout the whole conservation he was 100% "GTFM". Gotta respect that, at least...

I then tell him that I, too, have been told that I have "the gift" (true ) and that I am a devotee of Kali (also true, well sorta...) he was Indian, so I knew this would affect him, in some way or another... Then I busted out a swami prediction, the old "3 dice numeric trick" and then, once I had him on the ropes, I finished him off with Docc Hillford's "E'voque".

Awe and confusion ensued, along with pleas to teach him exactly how these feats were done (sorry, Mr. Charlatan... Cash on the barrel-head for your type...)

And even after this he STILL tried to get a couple of bucks out of me. And, failing this, he tried to get a free drink out of me, which, I must confess I gave to him, and gladly (if for no other reason but for the entertainment he provided to me this day.
