Hi,
I'm looking into the possibility of starting dove magic. Can anyone advice me on what books, videos, dvd's, props, holders, etc etc would are the best ones please. If Paul Dabek reads this then this is Robert Temple just so you know and can you e-mail me to let me know how you got into dove magic in your act. Also anyone else who works doves regularly. Thanks, TM |

Robert, I'd guess there are at least 2 dozen topics on this subject right here in this forum. There are many good books and videos on the market however, as I have stated many times, IMO, the best series to get is the Tony Clark video set. This will answer all of your questions. I'd be glad to help you with specific problems or questions if you'd like to narrow down your list a little.

Tony Clark has some excellent videos out! I believe that http://www.llpub.com carries them.
I have just produced a video on parakeet, dove, and parrot magic should you choose to not purchase Tony's videos. Here's the link for reviews http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......11&0 Good luck in whatever direction you choose. There is a lot of great information out there. Dave

Dove bags get Shimada's
Invisible harness & dove pockets, from Dan Birch http://www.danbirch.com. For a how to video, Tony Clark's video "Behind the Seam's" If you don't have a tux yet Amos Levkovich(sp) sells a tux with pockets, bags and videos. He has the best trained doves. G0THIKE |

As far as dove bags go, I've had the best experience with Andy Amyx's dove bags. They are expensive, but worh it! I had a lot of problems with Shimada's bags, wrecking my doves tails... Hope this can help.

I've had the same experience as Dave with the Shimada bags. Some of my birds have long tails and I don't trim tails or feathers. Tony Clark bags are longer but completely cover the bird which I don't like. My personal favorite, if I were to purchase a bag is the General Grant one hand release bag. The end is open to accomodate any length of bird. A similar bag is made by Peter White of P&A silks and his is adjustable for the girth of the bird as well.
Having used many different types of bags, I now custom make my own bags using the principles of several others combined.
