I have removed the innerds. Coated the inside with diluted wood glue. Then tried fingernail hardner. Both have proven too brittle.
Looking to strengthen the shell aginst breaking if dropped from 48" on to indoor/outdoor carpet. Any ideas for a fairly fluid substance that will coat the inside evenly, but will dry in an area with limited reaction with the air? Anyone with experence thinning silicone? Would resin still be too brittle? Mulee |

A tip I got from Whit Haydn was to coat the inside of the egg with a diluted solution of Durham's Rock Hard Water Putty.
I don't know if it would pass your drop test, but suspect that it would. |

I'll make a search for the putty. The drop test is arbatrary, just don't want the shell to crumble at an inoportune time.

I learned the Durham's tip from a Sid Lorraine lecture in the 70's....mine still works/looks great.

Googled Durham's Water Putty and recognized it right off. So it's off to the hardware store.
Many thanks MuleePete |

I have tried many substances but had no luck as nothing adhered to the memebrane which is in side the shell. I now just buy Tirofog eggsactly eggs.

I've bought the putty but I've not yet coated the insides of any of my Tirofog eggs, so I can't offer anything other than hearsay vis-a-vis its adherence qualities. |

A resin should work. Mix the "A" & "B" parts and coat the insides by 'rolling' it around.

There should be no problem with the Tirofog egg, it is the blown shells I have made myself which had the adherence problem.
