I have a show where they want me to run 1970's themes through (that's the Xmas Party Theme)
Having been born in the 80's, I never experienced that era...any suggetions for effects with 70's tie ins? It seemed to be one of the least eventful decades (relative to others anyway) Any suggestions would be much appreciated! |

The 70s were full of events... Watergate, missing tape, Vietnam, high inflation, energy crunch, long lines at the gas pump....
You may want do a little reading to find out everything that happened. Depending on what type of an act you do mostly you are talking about costuming, patter, and/or music.

Yes, Doug Henning's "The Magic Show" was on Broadway.
There was also, in 1976, the US Bicentennial, with red, white and blue, eagles, the Spirit of '76, and the Liberty Bell all over everything. There were a couple of years build-up to it, too.

Actually, the 70s could more accurately be divided into 'early' and 'late':
Early: winding down of the Hippie/Flower Power era Late: The Disco Era Combining those smacks of mild anachronism.
