Legacy – By the Underground Collective and The Vanishing by John Allen
I love the concepts of this effect. Many years ago I released an effect called Horrific Vacation. This I would do along with Heirloom and it killed. Combining two strong effects back to back to me has always been a win win. For one once you go into the next effect they normally do not ask you to repeat. Their fill of amazement is satisfied back to back.
Since I received Legacy I placed The Vanishing by John Allen cards in the pocket along with the Legacy playing cards. As soon as I open the wallet to start Legacy I take out the little envelope for the Vanishing and place that on the table and explain that I will get to that in a moment but first let me introduce you to my late mentor in magic.

Anyone who has read my book Taking Center Stage will know I love story based Mentalism. Legacy just like Heirloom is so customizable and the routine fits just about every type of performer. By combining this with The Vanishing it allows me to go even deeper. As soon as I am done performing Legacy I then say how my mentor had a mentor who he studied and that being Houdini. Since both props are aged everything fits nicely.

Don’t get me wrong Legacy and The Vanishing stand on their own as stand along effects, however if you want something that will give you a bang bang back to back then I suggest you give these two effects a try together. Then for a third routine, go into Heirloom why not it would be the icing on the cake.
Good job Jamie and Colin once again you guys turned out a great effect

Very pleased with Legacy. The props are fantastic and the instructions are nicely printed on thick paper. (Glad this didn't come with dvd instructions as I'm getting tired of all the dvds that come with simple tricks these days). Everything is clearly explained and the props are a joy to handle. Well done to everyone involved with this project.

Hey that's a nice video Paisa - thanks for posting! The guy peeked too soon though ;-)

BTW Floyd - I'm gonna grab me a copy of The Vanishing now. The current handling I have for Legacy would work nicely for this - I'll explain once I've put out the freebie that updates you guys on how I'm doing it now.

Cheers,

Jamie.

Yeah I saw that but I wanted the Right reveal in order to post. If I would have posted any other ways that the effect can go then that might have given it away to others who have seen Josh's Demo on the website. I have better reactions of other performances but for those that do not have one I couldn't put those up..Cant wait to see what you come up with and Vanishing sounds awesome.

Is the right video? This is Mark Jenest's Chaptrick. Was hoping to see Legacy.

It's a tricky one to demo in that respect but most likely by now anyone reading this thread has pieced together the basic
method if not the entire handling. Inevitably other videos will show different handlings but even an eager magician figures out the whole thing, the quality and specification of the product should mean it's not viable for anyone to make a homebrew version.

And if a layman's so eager as to chase down multiple videos across the Internet through a multitude of forums then... Well he should become
a magician since he has the right mindset ;-)

Cheers

I fully agree Jamie, the methods are nothing new but the props that is another thing,,, for the price alone the props and routine suggestions are worth every penny. To think that the spectator will pick the same red back card every time like in the demo I don't think even the newest of magicians would think.

Fair enough, I just now how the Café can get at times and didn't want to start turning this thread into something that it wasnt because of my video. Non the less the effects and props are second two none and I am very pleased with this... TO be honest the fact that the older the props get the better your story of an Heirloom or legacy can get is awesome to me... Not too many products out that that can fill those shoes.

I just purchased Legacy and love it. Everything is in the presentation and there is no skill involved. It's perfect for a beginner like me. It's one of those tricks that can be done half an hour after opening the box.
