Arnold, I enjoyed your KD Shift #2 demo. The hand movement looked a bit awkward during the second move, but very nice work nonetheless. Thanks for sharing. -Scott

Thanks.
In fact, the second move was for showing that nothing is visible from the supposedly worst angle (for that kind of shift). But I didn't realized I was not in front of the camera, hence the sudden movement. It's a little bit too fast too and then I missed the purpose of that second move . Anyway. Thinking of the past, I wouldn't do that kind of move at a table nowadays... I was crazy lol. |

Just shot another one for a friend of mine this afternoon.
"Bottom Dealing (Close View)" Direct link here: http://www.arnoldmcdonald.org/code/publi......=6200034 (100 downloads max) I don't sail the cards because no space for that lol, and it wasn't the purpose of the conversation. Purpose was finger flashing. Comments welcome! |

If you want to finger flash, practice extending and closing the fingers as you deal. The way you do it the finger flash is not discernible. You need a lot more work to get a finger flash on your deal. |

Lol, excellent.
PS: What's not excellent at all is people not commenting. Last video, 100 downloads in like half a day, 2 comments! This one, already 29 downloads and just you commenting. I post those videos for debating, feel free to comment, good or bad (if it's bad, it's also good to me because I'd get what to improve). So please, comment, share, debate, set arguments. Stop taking only and never giving anything back! |

It looks great to me Arnold!
Is it a pure strike? |

Good job Arnold ! Thanks for sharing this
Seems like a modified erdnase grip, or am I wrong ? |

This is absolutly great. What impress me more, is the way you place the deck in your hand just before dealing: fast and direct, as one should normally do. So many people (including the "experts") install the deck in the correct grip during a loooooong moment before dealing - which is in my opinion a major tell. This is fantastic. Obviously the deal in itself is , well, perfect.

Hi all.
@Bobbycash The one showed in the video is a pure strike, yes. I also have another variant where I slightly shift the bottom card with the second finger while dealing but I don't practice it any longer therefore I can't show it. There's no point to demonstrate something awful. The technique is a mix between what Maze, Nieman and a couple of others put in print. It will be described in a long awaited volume of Arcanum lol. @ctan Erdnase Grip! ooch. Wanna kill me, lol. The second finger is surely a bit closer to the right left corner than usual but it has nothing to do with any Erdnase Grip. Let's call it a slightly modified standard grip. @Jean-Jacques It's funny you mention it because I had a conversation yesterday with the guy I shot the video for, just about that, setting up the deck before dealing. The get ready I think Magicians call that. And I must say that, I didn't notice before he told me, but I always sort of setup the deck before dealing! It doesn't take long, it's quite fast, and has nothing to do with setting up a bottom card. I do it out of habit. I think the reason is because the cut cards I've used for years. They are very often slippery (made out of plastic) and therefore seldom fit perfectly at the bottom of the pack. Another thing is that when guys cut and complete the cut, rarely the deck is perfectly squared on the table. Therefore you have to quickly square it in your hands prior to the deal. Almost all the players I've played with do the same. Again, nothing to do with the weird manipulation many guys do on videos, just a "natural" squaring movement. I'll shot a video to explain all that more clearly. Thanks for your comments my friends. |
