Have been reading Harry Riser's book. One of the effects requires a rubber walnut.

Anyone know where to get one?

Thanks to both Boydy and mystre71

Not quite solutions as the products discussed don't appear to be available. Having said that I have sent out a few emails based on the above and let's see what comes back.

I have talked to Brian about making these again.

I think he still has a few, but we did talk once about me pouring more of them.

Maybe it will happen.

There is a film where Vernon perform this effect and he lets intentionally one of the walnut roll to the floor so that one of the spectators picks it up, being able to check that the walnuts are not fake ones.

Thanks for the post Randi

How could I get in touch with Brian to see if he still has some?

Cheers

Brian is a very private person.

I just emailed him asking him if he has some or if he wants me to make some, and giving him the link to this thread.

By the way, they are foam rubber walnuts not hard rubber.

Talked to Brian...

He doesn't have any more of the walnuts.
He has some of the DVDs left, but no nuts.

He asked me if I wanted to start making them, and I might.
But right now I have projects and can't work on making walnuts.

So... As for me or Brian, don't expect any walnuts any time soon.

Thanks for all your trouble Randi - foam sounds even better than rubber for the proposed use

Thanks also to Domino Magic but makeupguy alias wackomagic, do not actually have walnuts, whatever his website says - he is a victim of his own success and is inundated with orders for his bottle trick - too busy to do walnuts at present

All best

Ok... So I guess I am a liar.

I am making foam rubber walnuts.

I haven't had a chance to put it on store website yet...

But I have foam rubber walnuts and Brian O'Neill's 'Completely Nuts' DVD for sale.
Together they are $35... shipping included.

Thanks,

Randi

It's basically another cup and ball routine.

The only difference is that you load on different beats, and in a different way.
Because of the walnut, you can do things that you couldn't do with a real walnut.

So basically think of a cup and ball with a method that exploits the fake walnut... ie. sound and movement.

I have one of Brian's original walnuts and just bought one from Randi. I recommed them highly. Randi performed a routine using one at the last Dallas Super Session that was great.

Later Ya'll

Who is this Robert Wall Nuts anyways? Even if according to Ed Brown and Harry Riser he supplies a miracle, I'm still to see him borrow a ring, magically transfer it in an olive which is in turn magically transferred into a wallnut before the routine is performed and, for the climax braking the wallnut to take out the olive, brake the olive and take out the ring.... but I'm sure that Robert can't do that or we would have seen it on Youtube!

One tip: when Dai Vernon would perform the effect, he would manage to allow any wallnut other than Robert's so that a spectator could pick it up, testifying by the same token that the nut was genuinely nut (if my English is correct.)

Not the best joke, but yes it was. Now how do you like the idea to supply a climax for Harry Riser's effect with an object, vanished before the effect, ending up after the nuts to glass into one of the non rubber walnuts (kind of card to the lemon but with a borrowed ring or signed bill)? The travel of the content somehow substantiate that the walnuts did actually travel into the glass

I'm working on ways to NOT use a tube/can, but a handkerchief... and to minimize having the glass bottom side up for for than a second or two, using the Kaps cups and balls loading ideas. And possibly a Bob Stencil final load method???
