Here is some material I'm currently looking to market or publish. If you anyone is interested in the explanation, pm me and I'll send it.
Over The Phone: You mail an envelope to the organizer of the event you will be performing at, inside the envelope it has… - A notepad - A sharpie marker - Another small envelope that has the words ” Prediction” written on it. Over the phone you ask the spectator to draw any shape, number anything they want to doodle on the pad. “Would you be impressed if the prediction I had inside that envelope matched your drawing?” Of course the spectator agrees. “What is the object you have drawn on the notepad” “A smiley face” “Wow this is absolutely amazing, I didn’t actually believe this would work. I think you are going to be very impressed with this, I cannot explain it over the phone. Bring the prediction with you, do not open it until we meet. This prediction I made is astounding” The mentalist and the spectator get off the phone, a few days later they meet. The prediction envelope is open, the spectator reads the prediction that was in the hands of the spectator the entire time. The prediction drawing matches the spectators selection… Effect #2 The mentalist has a spectator touch four selected cards at random. The cards are then place on the table. The mentalist then instructs the spectator to choose one of the four selected cards on the table. One playing card is selected, keep in mind the spectator can change his mind at any time. The other three cards are discarded back into the deck. The spectator's card is face down on the table. The mentalist pulls out an envelope out of his pants pocket. The envelope is opened and a single playing card is inside. The mentalist reveals his playing card to the spectator, amazingly both the spectator and mentalist cards match perfectly! Effect#3 Free Choice The Effect: A premonition is written, the mentalist writes his notes on a pad of paper. He places the pad face down, his premonition has been made. Six envelopes and six drawings are shown. The envelopes are examined, along with the drawings. The drawings are placed inside the envelopes, sealed and given to the spectator to hold. The magician asks the spectator to mix the envelopes as much as they desire. He instructs the spectator to hand him any envelope. It's a total free choice, the spectator can change their mind as much as they want. To recap the envelopes were examined along with the drawings, the envelopes were then sealed and shuffled. Any envelope could have been selected, a total free choice. The envelope is torn open, the drawing is given to the spectator. The spectator opens the drawing and reveals it to the rest of the audience. The mentalist stands in shock, he cannot believe what's happening. The mentalist turns over his pad of paper, drawn on the pad is the symbol of the freely selected drawing the spectator had chosen. A perfect match, an amazing revelation under the most fairest conditions! |

I'd so much rather see a video of a performance to get a handle on the prop and audience management - not to mention how the items go over when performed.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

I know this is an old post but I just thought you might want to know this.....
"Over the Phone" Sounds a lot like Jay Sankey's trick "Alphamail", from his dvd "Hemispheres". The effect is basically the same (and it sounds like the method is the same too) only in his trick you mail the person a magazine (and the prediction), ask him open it to any page, circle any word then bring it to the event your performing at. Still It's a great effect! And if the method is the same you should still be proud that you came up with the same effect as Jay Sankey. It means the effects you create must be awesome! Just the other day (if you don't mind if I ramble for a bit ) I saw that Ellusionist put out a signed coin in balloon. What upset me though is that I created the same effect (not sure about the method) and was hoping on releasing it sometime . But at least now I know that some of the effects I create are good enough to be released on Ellusionist The same thing also happened with Daniel Garcia's "Okay Vanish" I created the effect only to find a vid of D.G. doing it on Y.T. a few weeks later (even the same name ) . Still I'm happy to know that I created the same effect as D.G. (and my handling's better too )! Anyway's I think I've rambled enough (sorry bout that, but that's just me ) Hope this helps! Lliam |
