Wiz Kid Wilhelmina, age 9, loves to play jacks and recently began developing magic moves for them. At first she imitated songe ball moves with the jacks and super ball, but then she started experimenting with new moves that really can't be done with a sponge ball. The result is the first chapter in her first magic book: "Magic For Girls" and the effect is a complete routine called "Magic Jacks" based on her new techniques. Women magicians who enjoyed playing jacks as girls can really relate to this and discover a whole new set of uses for their sponge ball and coin magic skills, plus add some new skills that only work with jacks.

Nice, Spellbinder! I see how easily Jacks could be used in closeup! Where can we find this book "Magic For Girls"?

You'll find it on my site with a link to it on my home page. Eventually it will probably have a button of its own, but she is just getting started and only has a few e-Books to her credit. As I mentioned in another thread, this has turned out to be a larger project than I expected, so the "Magic Jacks" book will take some time to "translate" from "9-year-old" to language understandable by adult magicians. In the meantime, the second item in her "Magic For Girls" book is finished and ready to go: "Teddy Bear Houdini," which she could also have named "Hairy Bearly Houdini". Thanks for your interest.

Just a follow-up. "Magic Jacks" is finished. It can still use a few more photos but the text is complete. It's available on my site under Wilhelmina's "Magic For Girls" book section.

I'm encouraging her to finish her "Piggy Needs Money" next, because that will be quick and easy for both of us. It is basically a miser's dream using a piggy bank instead of a pail.

My most memorable times with jacks was stepping on them barefooted.

As are mine. Ever done "twosies" on that, Bob? Really not fun.
