Im looking for a small custom job, will pay a reasonable fee if someone is willing and able.
Or if anyone can recommend a magicfacturer, who might make these things. Would like to do a die thru silk routine, before sliding breakaway die box by Thayer/Owen- the green box, oriental door design, yellow die, black dots. If you know it,you know it. Will need a shell die, yellow with black spots,) ( to fit over a silk on the die that comes with the above mentioned die box.) And a cover, which covers the shell, Will forgo the usual 'vanishing of the dots' Thanks for looking |

I am not following this. Do you want tubes made or die shells? Or a spot can?

Sounds like you need a 5-sided shell, and a 5-sided cover.

I would ask Jay Leslie or TW for something that precise.

The problem with trying the checkers through silk effect with a cube is the corners on the open end of the shell. They will snag and tear the silk when trying to cover the silk draped cube.

Just have a bit of 'play' on the silk, and there is no issue.
Solid die ( from breakaway die box) is covered by a large silk, 5 sided die shell gets put over that: Cover in turn gets placed over the shell, pick the whole lot up, solid die penetrates the silk.Cover, with shell inside is shown empty. |

Yes, that effect was on the market years ago, I believe Supreme Magic made it at one time. The ones I seen were always made out of cardboard.
P&L use to make this effect as well, way back when, it was probably made out of metal back then as most things were. You could try contacting Abbott's Magic and see if they will make one for you, they have all the equipment to do so. It is just getting Greg Bordner to agree to it. |
