I am looking for mentalism effects that either would work for this theme or can be adapted to this theme. This theme rules out lots of props like marker pens, note pads, modern looking cards, and modern silverware. I think I can use one or two things on Max Maven's Videomind videos, but I want more.

Max,
At some renfairs and odd shops, I have found pencils that are made in natural branch form, and smallish leather-bound journals that could work as a notepad. You could do a slateless Mental Epic routine and put the one-aheaded slips into a goblet.

I've also seen lots of old ren and medeival style playing cards in "Rennie" type catalogs.
I bet some of the effects where the name or whatever is written in ash on your arm or something would be pretty good for that.

I throw stuff.

Once again thank you for all of the great suggestions. I now have a lot of work ahead of me to craft some period patter and put together a small show. My wife will be assisting and I have even thought of having her do a mentalism type effect and play on her characters Gypsie heritage.
