Hiya Gang!
http://www.vimeo.com/25286364
I've been laid up at home the last few days, so this morning I thought I'd make a quick video to reveal something I've been working on since July 08, 2006:
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=169686&forum=109&1
I finally got the perfect result, made here locally, about a month ago- and I've been trying to perform it at least once a day ever since. It's been absolutely killing! But I knew that it would; I mainly wanted to make sure that my version would be able to stand the trials of daily use. I'm happy to say that's it has, no problem! I'm super happy with it.
That's all for now!
All my best,
jamie

I have so many versions of the MP (the original thick block, the thin version, the triple stab, the glass block and everything in between) that this is SOOOOO on my radar now. Looking forward to it Jamie!

I trust this product will be well made and stand up to scrutiny but the same cannot be said for the video.
Why spend 4 years perfecting a product, then post a demo which fl***es the gi****k?

I don't know how this is done, so I guess Im seeing this from a laymen's POV. I didn't see any flashing of any gimmicks or anything. I guess when you know the secret its obvious.

Jamie,
Industrial Revolution looks terrific! Memorable to watch and remember! Truly amazing demo! If you are taking names to purchase, I want to be first.

Nat - It's great that you find this product memorable to remember(!) - It's called Industrial REVELATION, btw - but what does that have to do with my post which you have quoted?

I'm sure Jamie won't mind me saying that I have seen a prototype of Industrial Revelation:
It is a solid, examinable chunk of steel.

What in the world are you talking about. There is no flash of the gimmick.
This looks bulletproof

In respect of a PM from Mr Grant I will no longer discuss this in the open forum.
Sorry Jamie, only just spotted it!

There definitely IS a flash of the gimmick - if you know what you're looking for. I love the effect, and the way it works, I would just hope that a new gimmick wouldn't be as noticeable.
Some think Houdini used trap doors in his act, but he was just going through a stage.

Why would someone asterisk out the words flash and gimmick? Seriously?!?

Hi truthteller - I had previously posted a comment in this thread which was removed.
Since I was not given a reason for its removal I assumed it was because I had said something which tipped the method, so I rephrased my comment.
You are quite right to find the asterisks ridiculous. I'm new here and the rules about what can and cannot be said are frankly unclear. I have seen "c*p in bottle", "th**b t*p" etc. which I too, find laughable.
I also want to clarify that I was referring to the quality of the demo video, not the product itself (which actually looks great from the top).
I hope I haven't upset anyone by pointing out something that seemed glaringly obvious to me.
On a more positive note I like your little beard.

Thanks for clarifying. I too have seen silly things and feared your post was exemplary of a continued trajectory downward. Happy to know you are as reactionary as I.
Having said that, if this is what the trick looks like even when it's flashing, it still looks better than 99% of the excrement being released today.

This makes my day, lol. No kidding! It also falls into my Under-Promise, Over-Deliver policy. I think everyone who gets this is going to be truly wonderfully surprised. There's only one problem that I have to deal with...
I'm currently getting the instructions drawn up (Literally! They're being hand drawn by an amazing artist here in town. I am super lucky and super pumped that he's agreed to do it!) and have to get my crediting in order. Unfortuneately, for the life of me, I haven't been able to identify the creator of the first Matchbox Penetration. I appreciate that it's over 50 years old, but I would still love to know who was the first. I've been able to track down most of the different creators and versions over the years, but still haven't nailed down the first.
If anyone can help me out with this, I would be really grateful. It would be best if we discuss it over here:
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=169686&forum=109&1
Also, on the subject of instructions, this is going to be ready to perform right out of the box! The instructions will be a 1-sheet (albeit an amazing 1-sheet!) so there's no DVDs to deal with, or wasted time. I'll also be including the card box and even the quarter. I've never really liked having to search around the house for items, lol.
Excited,
jamie

Hey Jamie, see if you can use Truthtellers quote on your advertising:
"It ain't excrement!"
-TT
All kidding aside, this trick looks amazing! It's definitely going onto the list.
Best,
MJ

Mj, if you are going to quote me, please get it correct.
It reads:
"it's BETTER THAN excrement!"

That is sooo good, lol. Awesomeola!
And here's a quick look at one of the instruction sketches! I really took some time and asked myself, "When I buy a magic effect, what am I looking for, with regards to the purchase itself."
A) Not having to do anything, lol. (Cutting, gluing, smelting, etc.)
B) Excellent customer service. (If I want to ask the creator a question, is he accessible.)
C) Brevity in content. Just give me the goods- no filler!
Don't get me wrong, I love smelting and watching four-hour DVDs as much as the next guy and, sometimes , there really is a place for it. Other times, though, I just want to take the trick out of the box and start having fun right away. This will be one of those times!
Thanks for reading, watching, commenting, and your patience!
We're getting close,
jamie

Me too!
Well done Jamie, particularly for not just making a great, workable version of the existing 'matchbox block', but for taking it to the next level. Kudos!
And I'll go further than Truthteller: I think it's better than ice-cream. And you can quote me ;-)
Cheers,
ME
