Those of you using Kerry Pollack's MP3Tech for your show on the Mac platform should be aware that the MP3Tech software is NOT compatible with the new Lion operating system. You get an error message that forces you to quit the program. What this means practically is that you cannot add new tracks to your SD card that the MP3Tech software recognizes.
I have had communications with both Kerry and his tech support guy about this. The bottom line is that Kerry's Mac software programmer left a few months ago and Kerry is overwhelmed with other business. He has no plans to upgrade the MP3Tech software to be Lion compatible. I would imagine that if he heard from enough of his customers he might reconsider that stance.
In the meantime, what other sound controllers have you had success with? (I know this topic has been discussed before, but I'm curious if there are any new products out there.)
Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
One solution is that you could have Mac OX 10.5 (Leonard) on external drive and boot up from that.

That may just work! I'll try it. Fortunately, I saved my Snow Leopard disc.
Thanks, Donald.

I can run Windows on one of my computers using a program called Parallels. However, that is my office computer, and I don't want to sully my home machines with Windows.

Bob,
You mean my 'n' doesn't look like a 'p'?

Bob, I think it’s less expensive to get an extra lap top windows computer for about $300.00 to configure your MP3 instead of purchasing a new music sound controller for over $1000.00
I don’t think there is anything out now that works as well as the MP3

Bob, thinking about it further, why don't you keep the MP3 software on your office computer and use the Windows program to set up your SD card?

Thanks, Donald and Howie, for your suggestions. I ended up doing what Donald suggested and created a Snow Leopard start-up drive on an external hard drive. I transferred all my tracks into that disc's iTunes and downloaded the MP3Tech software onto that. It works perfectly.
Thanks again, guys!

Bob,
May I suggest you email Kerry explaining what you did, I’m sure he will appreciate a simple resolution to the issue

Thanks, Buzz. I already did, and he e-mailed back that he's going to put my (OK, Donald's) solution on the website along with some other work-arounds.

That does mean I'm some sort of artist or something, or I can put my sign out as a troubleshooter? Hope I don't shoot myself in the foot.

Why not, maybe you could play Deputy Fife in a remake of Mayberry.

They never bothered to tell Barney that Andy had carefully pulled the slug out of the shell and emtied the powder. Then they put the slug back in and crimpted it. Barney was never the wiser.

Barney never should have thrown his dummy overboard.

I think it's working with the latest update of Lion.
Can anyone else confirm this?
