I just finished a run of Xmas/Holiday bazaars, and was very satisfied with the results.
No tent to set up, no worries about weather or wind, and LOTS of shoppers and money walking by the pitch table. It was very easy to pull tips because many people were shopping with their kids, and the Magic Worm demo always draws them in like moths to a flame. Also very easy to turn tips because people were looking for inexpensive "stocking stuffers" that are a bit unusual. These holiday bazaars are sort of like upscale flea markets, the only differences being that people come planning to spend a good bit of money and they very rarely haggle with you over the prices.
If you haven't done any of these events yet, check around your community; there's probably still time to get in on a few Xmas, Chanukah or Kwanzaa bazaars. They are definitely well worth your time and trouble, in my experience (if you don't mind hearing "White Christmas" played a few hundred times during the day). If you want to fatten up your bank account in preparation for buying some new stock for next year, this is time and place to do it, folks! SETH
