All,

I wanted to inform you gals and gents of the release of my only physical book. (Just kidding, I know there are only two ladies interested in mentalism and my hat is off to both of you .) While the use of cards is debated amongst those in the know, I have always thought they can be utilized... when presented in a certain way. I have explored this "manner" in my own work and maybe you will find this worthwhile. I am passionate about this medium, though extremely particular. Maybe a reductionists view of cardwork may be of interest to you? This perfect bound book contains (what I hope you consider) breakthrough new routines, updated and simplified handlings and a couple pieces, as originally published. I promise you will use them. Nonethless, I present to you:

TAILORED SUITS-Card Routines Befitting a Mentalist

Beyond Touch – A demonstration of derm-optic vision

Red-Handed – A direct psychological force of a playing card

Tandem – A structure to (fearlessly) utilize your favorite psychological force

Cherchez – A (nearly) mind’s only Monte routine

Our Mind’s Eyes – A parallel demonstration of photographic memory

Mirrored – Three Card Prediction

Darkness and Light – Two participants explore their own intuitive abilities

Fields of Vision – A progressive thought-of card routine

Avalon 2011 – An imagined card becomes a reality (my updated handling)

Brave New World – New Territory in the Out of This World genre (No displacements or switches and the colors are shown immediately separated. The clean-up happens in the participant's own hands. True.)

This is an 8.5” x 8.5” perfect bound book, and scheduled to ship late this month
Price: $49.95 US, $56.95 anywhere else.

For a short time, there will be a discounted price at my website. Here is the page:

Thank you for the votes of confidence. These routines have proven effective for me, though all quite simple and clear. They are a joy to perform and represent breakthroughs in some effect genre or another. For instance:

"Cherchez" was really a result of my obsession with a mind's only "Bank Night" routine. While I was never fully satisfied with the variety of methods I employed for a traditional (mind's-only) Bank Night, this structure works excellently as a Monte presentation. (Though it could be used for a three envelope Bank Night or adapted to a "Dangerous Monte" Theme). I love it.

"Brave New World", as far as I can tell, is a novel approach to Paul Curry's psychic sorting effect. This method can be applied to any like-sized medium (pictures, etc) and is a standing-up method. It is a tad bold, but easy. It can be utilized as easily on stage as in any informal setting. I am extremely proud of this, as well. It represents a personal breakthrough.

I began my interest in Mystery Entertainment with a deep love of card magic (of all sorts) nearly twenty years ago. This passion has endured and I hope this this material reflects this long-standing interest. They all are epiphanies, of sorts. Since mental card effects are a "gateway" effect of sorts, I thought it seemed appropriate to devote these to a physical book.

Thank you all for your orders, thus far. I hope you enjoy the book.

Sean

Ok, I failed to convince you with the spirit bell proposal I made...

But I'll try again here...

Iain, pick one copy for me. IF we happen to meet soon you'll give me the book, if not you'll pay the postage fee from your house to mine!

Greetings from Athens, Sean.

May I ask you how many pages does "TAILORED SUITS" consist of?

BTW, I've already "Ponderings" and " Contemplation" and both of them are true gems.

Next in my order list was for a long time "Reflections" since I noticed overdue today
that you have released an other pdf ebook titled "WONDERS" and of course the
aforementioned physical book as well.

Because of my health issue I was for quite a few months away from my daily personal and
professional activities and the magic community as well.

It seems that I missed a lot of great happenings. Anyway.

I'd like to point out one more thing regarding Sean's personality that I think it deserves
to be mentioned at this topic.

Except from his deep knowledge of Pscychology (if memory serves me well) and his creativity
as a magician/mentalist as well, Sean is a person who STANDS OUT for his high levels of ethics,
integrity and his humane and high professional attitude towards his customers as well.

I think it was a Saturday afternoon about two years ago, when I sent him an email
asking for some info about "Ponderings".

Here's a brief taste of my email:

"(...) Since I've been intrigued by the amazing reviews (Magic Café, etc.) regarding
your e-book PONDERINGS, I thought it's worth to get it ...right now!

Since I'm an impatient person, I'm interested to purchase it today and I would appreciate it
if you could tell me if it is possible to send it to me within the day (it was Saturday as I mention above).

I'd also like to know, how long after I place my order via PayPal, will it take to arrive in my inbox.

Thank you in advance,

Waiting for your soon as possible reply,

Andrew"

And here is what Sean DID after receiving my email:

"Andrew,

Thank you for your interest and the kind words.

I have gone ahead and attached the ebook.

Please just send the paypal payment, as soon as you can.

I will be out much of the day and I did not want you to have to wait.

I hope you enjoy it."

I'd like to thank him once more, but this time publicly, for his particular kind gesture two years ago.

Sean, I'd like you to know that I much appreciated the fact that you trusted me implicitly,
sending me your e-book on the spot, without having beforehand received my payment.

I just felt the need to share it here with all of you because those kind of gestures from
on line retailers/authors/dealers are rare nowadays. Don't you agree?

Of course I sent Sean his payment right away after his "unusual" for most of the people
who are running those kind of business, email.

Sincerely,

Andrew

Andrew,

Thank you for the gracious comments. They are genuinely appreciated. Thank you as well for your interest in "Tailored Suits". The page count is approximately 100 pages. The final draft is being revised, so the final number will be close.

Thanks Eric and Andrew.

Thank you to each of you who has pre-ordered this. Your (blind) confidence is appreciated. This has been sent to press so I am waiting on the books to return to me. Based upon all appearances this should be back in time to meet my late December ship date. I truly appreciate each of your investments and I hope you enjoy the material. It was a lot of fun (and tears) to product an physical book. Thanks for taking part in the project and update you all with shipping information. As soon as these arrive, I will ship pre-order copies. This means there are a few more days to pre-order before this arrives.

Sincerely,

Sean

What a great Christmas treat to indulge in!

Sean is a class act, a true inspiration to many of us.

I had a chance to take a peek at a draft of Tailored Suits and I'll just state here what you probably already know based on Sean's previous work: It's excellent.

His handling of OOTW (Brave New World) breaks barriers. It's so clean. No displacement, no tricky moves...it's almost as though you are doing it for real.

He has added layers to a couple of effects that you may be familiar with from his earlier works in this book. The layers that he added take each of those effects to another level.

Cherchez La Femme is a great piece of work. Imagine playing Three Card Monte invisibly in your spectator's mind.

Our Mind's Eye has got a new face lift, an entire new phase that amps it up a notch.

It's a great book from cover to cover. Sean and I are friends, but that's because I like to make friends with brilliant people. I'm proud to know him and I'm proud to perform these great effects.

You really can't go wrong here. As always with Sean, there is so much going on in between the lines that you will want to read it over and over.

Total Zentalism.

Sean was born into the world of Mystery with a deck of cards in his hands. In his early days I was lucky to find him as a friend and discover that world, back when we thrilled over T.A. Waters' creativity and took turns turning our worlds upside down. I can't wait for the reviews to come in from the trenches for this hardback collection. Every time Sean describes a new card effect to me it feels like coming home to that place where "Out of This World" is brand new and I wonder what's waiting on the next page.

It's about time for a hardback from Sean Waters. His work deserves proper binding.

I performed for an audience of drunken mimes. They hurled invisible bottles at me.

"Mem-rees... all alone in the moonlight" (holds back tears).

It's true, the first time I read T.A. Waters, it was Mike's copy. I tried to steal it and would have gotten away with it too (if it wasn't for those pesky kids). I later bought a used copy and then decided my namesake (no relation, though my grandafather was T.E. Waters, hmmmm) derserved to be in better condition. I finally broke down a bought a new one. T.A. still turns my world upside down.

Thanks for the comments Don and Mike. You are both friends for sure. You all are fufilling a long-held dream of living next to T.A. on the bookshelves of the more obsessive-compulsive book owners (like me?). I wish I was a fly on your wall. (Again.... holds back tears).

Seriously! Thanks for the comments Gents.

I hope you all have enjoyed your Holidays thus far. According my tracking number from the printers, "Tailored Suits" will arrive to me on Wednesday (tomorrow) and all pre-order copies will be mailed on Thursday. So there are two more days to pre-order. To those of you who have, you have my thanks.

I just performed a few pieces (specifically my OOTW and Cherchez) from the book for a mentalist friend I had not seen in a long time. He did not have the slightest clue and was quite taken with them. My point is that these routines work equally well for any group. I hope you find the same for your own performances and that they fit you as well.

Just received my book today--
Who was your graphic designer in this, Sean? Very nicely put together, between you, Iain and Phill Smith you're definitely raising the bar.

I was one of the guys that got fooled so badly with your Brave New World... and it was great to see it in print-- but I'll have to wait until the weekend to give this a proper read.

Meanwhile I've studied the book and even chatted with Sean about (my way of) tweaking some effects - believe me, it was a real pleasure to exchange ideas and to learn more about the genesis of certain routines!
So this little book is a real treasure chest, and although I can't find the time to review all single effects now (some of them are improved versions of existing SW routines, btw), it gets my full recommendation!

Hopefully there will be a second edition!

I haven't had the time to put together a proper review of this yet, but I can't believe there hasn't been more buzz about this book.
