I'm looking to add this routine to my shows and I'm curious if anyone knows the proper length the rope should be for the hands and the rope around the body?

There is also a "spirit cabinet tie" in one of the Tarbell volumes.

I have never seen the video referenced above, but the Spirit Cabinet Tie from Tarbell should give you pretty much what you need. I believe you can find it in Tarbell Volume 6.
