According to the S.A.M. web site, there are no active assemblies in Nevada at this time. There are at least three Houdini"s Magic Shops in Las Vegas, one of them inside New York, New York casino. The S.A.M. is holding their annual convention in Las Vegas this coming July.
Check out the web site at magicsam.com .

Las Vegas doesn’t have an active chapter of the Society of American Magicians or the International Brotherhood of Magicians. They have Gary Darwin’s Magic Club.
Darwin started the club forty years ago due to local predjudice issues. Things have changed, but this club has not. All are welcome. Darwin set up his own magic club—one with no restrictions, membership fees, or rules of order. For Darwin, it was all about the magic. Darwin’s Magic Club’s meets every Wednesday night in the back room of Boomer's, a dive bar on Sirius. “Pleasantly tolerates”—those are the right words; Boomer’s pleasantly tolerates the magicians.

Actally there is an IBM ring in Las Vegas, but it keeps moving. Last I hedard it meets the first Monday of the month at Denny and Lees, but in the past it has met at the Flamingo Library and other places.

I recommend you contact Denny & Lee's Magic Shop they can give you the lay of the land. The guys there are great and can help. Vegas has a great magic community you are going to love being there.
