It's called "Let's Get Visual" and features puppets by Axtell Expressions. There are routines, explanations, puppet modifications, props and an inside look at my particular method of making life interesting for kid show and family audiences. And I mean all--even non-kid show performers like me. Steve's Let's Get Visual breaks new ground in instructional DVD's by teaching us the elements that make a kids' routine great and demonstrating these elements with videos of his live shows. Steve doesn't just give you routines to incorporate into your act, though he explains the technical workings of his performances so that you can do just that. He also teaches what he calls the ingredients of "visual gumbo," which are really the elements of the dramatic arc of a show needed to grab and hold kids' interest. There is also a lot to learn just from watching Steve perform. For instance, you will get a lesson in how to treat your audience volunteers just by seeing the huge smile on the face of a boy named Dylan after Steve finishes working with him. Bob covered most of the highlights, but there is so much great info on it, I'll be going back to review many times.
