The Mati Envelope is a brandnew envelope peek system which allows a very clean and devious peek of any information written on an untouched slip of paper, sealed shut into an envelope!

Nothing new?

Well, there are some properties and advantages you might want to consider...

  • the performer at no point touches the slip paper or business card
  • the spectator herself seals the envelope shut
  • the envelope remains in the spectator's hand
  • in the end, the spectator re-opens the envelope herself, finding her slip of paper
  • no switches
  • no 'pads' or 'boards'
  • no 'writing surface' whatsoever
  • 100% invisible peek
  • completely clean ending
  • spectator can keep paper and envelope as souvenirs

Here's what some professionals from around the world have said about The Mati Envelope:

"Very clever concept..."
- Pablo Amira (Chile)

"Elegant and compelling!"
- Dr. Todd Landman (United Kingdom)

"In a word: brilliant!"
- Jan Forster (Germany)

"Wow...! Well constructed, practical - I wish I had thought of it!"
- Peter Turner (United Kingdom)

"...an easy and very clever device to create amazing routines!"
- Luca Volpe (Italy)

"Versatile and devilish - Kudos!"
- Thomas Heine, ParaLabs (Germany)

The eBook (47 pages, 25 illustrations, EUR 16 or $20) decribes two variations of the Mati system and teaches you in-depth how to build them yourself within minutes.
The introductory price will be EUR 12 (or $16).

This sounds very good. Curious on the size of the peek area?

Thanks,

I'm sure Felix will respond, but the peek area is virtually 100% of the card.

I just received this an hour ago, so I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but it is a very well written, comprehensive ebook. Everything is explained in very clear language.

I will say more after I have had a chance to test drive it.

As Pit Boss already confirmed, the peek area is around 95%, so there will be no restrictions whatsoever where the spectator has to write down his thought!

To addresss another questions I have received:
Quote:
How about performance angles? Can this be used with people standing at my side?

Yes, you could perform this almost totally surrounded and still get the peek! It's really that devious and invisible!!

If you have any more question, please let them coming...!
I will be offline for the next 24 hours so please that bear in mind when sending PMs or ordering!

It´s a great valid tool for the performer who wants to add a envelope that can give them a good p**k.

I don't say that this is the ultimate one, but surely for the searcher, will be a good piece to see.

That could be weird because I offer Montana´s Morevelope on my site.

Both envelopes are different. Morevelope is far more simple to make and low tech. For Mati Envelope you need a few more things to accomplish the working.
Both gives you a full p**k.

Get both and made your own mind ;)

Of course I agree with Pablo - both envelopes are VERY different... but so is their field of application!

Morevelope does exactly what it says and delivers a great full peek - and to say that it's more than simple to build is almost an exaggeration...!

The Mati Envelope, on the other hand, also allows you to get a full peek - but its possibilities do not end here by far!
It is one of those rare envelopes that has to be employed when a peek alone is not enough, i.e. when you want (or need) to hand out the envelope afterwards and even have the audience themselves open it to find their slip of paper. Personally, I find this a great feature for any Three Envelope Test or Cassidy's Name/Place routine!
(Additionally, the participant can keep everything as souvenir without any switch).

It's also true that The Mati Envelope requires a setup, which is more elaborated than that of Morevelope. It does not require more workmanship but admittedly more time (approx. 5-6 minutes). I think it's only fair to bring this up, since chances are this could be a disqualifier for some performers.

In closing, it's a matter of choice which type of envelope you require - if you think your routine would benefit from the features above (deviously peeking a sealed envelope and handing it out in the most natural way), then you might want to have a look at the The Mati Envelope.
If, on the other hand, your preference is to have a peek only and simplicity in construction is the way to go, then you might refrain from it.

Don't hesitate if you have any more questions, I'll always try to answer them honestly and swiftly!

Now this is something REALLY GREAT!!!

I studied Felix' manuscript (which is very well written and has lots of photos that make everything crystal clear) thoroughly and I advise you to do the same, otherwise you might miss all the nuances that make the Mati something very special indeed.

Although you need something else to make this work and maybe need to test what works best for you, the effect itself (or better: the method) could not be better hidden. All they see is a stack of envelopes, something is written on a card which is sealed in the envelope and handed to the spectator. Depending whether you use the first or second method ecplained you can now leave everything with the spectator who can finally open the envelope himself and take out his card. There is nothing to see.

The envelope is perfectly opaque, and really sealed, no switch is taking place - anmd still you get a full peak.

The Mati envelope really is a keeper!

Well done Felix!

Hi,

I - personally - use envelopes in general just on rare occasions (even if I know that many colleques use them frequently). One of the rare routines in which I use them is Bob's '4th Dimensional Telepathy' incl. a minor modification.

Now I even knew the particular technique Felix uses to get the information from his Mati Envelope before; but I never used any application of this method before in practice because I always found technical alternatives that met my requirements better.

But then Felix introduced his Mati Envelpe to me. And apart from the various options and applications that his idea offers, it not only made perfect sense to me in the 4th DT variation that I perform. More than this it offered me additional presentational degrees of freedom in this routine that I never had with the methods I used beforehand.

Especially the aspect that all participants can keep their original billets (or index cards) and envelopes immediately, that I never have to touch them again and that they personally can open them and confirm the content (what they have written or drawn) was extremely winning.

A great tool with various options!
The manuscript is very well written and all technical aspects are made absolutely clear by many brilliant photos and exact explanations.

Highly recommended from my point of view.

Best
Th.

Thanks guys, your words flatter me!

Another question I've been frequently asked during the last days:
Q: What type of envelopes are used?
A: The Mati principle is built around using pay envelopes!

Clearly the most devious way and the one where it exploits its full potential is to use the Mati system in routines like Name/Place or the classic Three Envelope Test.
The conjunction with different methods here makes a prime example for the logical disconnect at work; therefore I designed it that way so it can be combined with these routines effortlessly (envelopewise).

Let any more questions coming, please...

I can second every positive comment made here about the mati envelope.
fantastic method(if you don't know it yet, it will blow your mind, promised), great application of it!, visual and informative manuscript (The layout, the description and pictures), versatile technique.
For me it's a real pre show beauty. But it allows for endless possibilities! - it trully is a miracle maker.
When reading the ebook you can see the effort Felix put into the project.
Which surely is his normal (high!) quality standart - have a look at his beautiful "Chance's Token" as well)

If you don't get it you will miss one of the greatest ways of getting a stealth full peek.
The best thing you leave the spectator with his billet. He can open the envelope back at home if he wants to. (nothing to discover)

I love it, thanks for sharing my friend!

I had an opportunity to briefly read Felix's PDF manuscript in the past few days and I can also attest that this is a *fantastic* method of gaining information.

I think Felix knows that the principal behind the Mati is one dear to my heart, and also a method which very few are familiar with. Combining this idea with the use of an envelope take this many levels higher.

I look forward to doing the very minimal arts & crafts work this coming weekend to test this out. Great work Felix.

The PDF book was also put together with the greatest of care, and this is something special.

THIS, is money well spent. Extremely clever, and the instructions/photos superb. A real worker, and easy to do.

Hey, that's funny: the two stamps that you used at the end of your (nice) website represent two of the three languages that are spoken in my country.
PARTI = French for "sent, gone"
AANGEKOMEN = Dutch for "arrived, recieved)

(they also speak German in a little part of the country)

It is very promising and you can do wonderful stuff with this envelope.I am looking forward to having a few days off to make and try out the envelopes

The only complaint I have is that you went to great lengths to describe every facet of the envelope and construction and then gave us nothing for the actual peek. I personally think the actual method for the peek should have been included. And/or alternate peek methods. Or at least mention on the description and sales pitch that no peek method is included and buyer will have to figure that out for themselves.

@ Waterloophai
Thanks for your words! What a coincidence with the stamps... I only chose them as they resembled also the German word ("angekommen").

@Doug:
Actually, the book describes what I think is the most convincing peek for the given 'starting position' (see page 32).
Did you miss an in-depth description or was something unclear about it?
Or did you accidentally skip this section??
By the way, the credits section the book names and guides you to the source of this peek for anyone interested in more background knowledge. Please let me know by email if you have any specific question about the peek or if you look for another one (which should not be too hard to accomplish with the build-up of the Mati).

Enjoy your weekend,
Felix
