One can never be too sure of how safe he'll be. We just never know when its time. Good thing it was just his fingers... Glad he's ok!

This is scary...
I am actually performing on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship
THAT VERY SAME DAY,on the rehearsal of the show of that night I suffered an accident and cutted the tip of the same finger. Thanks God the cut was smaller than that and the tip is still attached to my finger thanks to the great doctor and some stitches...
Doctor said I would need about 15 days to be recovered and able to perform again.
But what I think is scary is the fact that something like that happened to two of us... I hope no more magicians were injured!!
My best wishes to mr. Daniels.

Didn't DC cut the top of his finger off in a show when doing his rope trick - this was maybe 7/8 ears ago?

Last week I slipped on a small stick and went face-first onto my table saw. Yes it was on. My face missed the blade by inches.
Some of you would love to crack a joke about how much better I'd look. Please don't. I have a new appreciation for safety even though I'm already overly-cautious to begin with. I usually measure 5 to 7 times before I cut.
(Then again, maybe that's not overly cautious... just obsessive compulsive)

Thanks. Yeah I've seen that several months ago but there's more to it then just a safety device. Half the time you wouldn't be able to cut what you wanted to when you wanted.
But thanks for thinking of me. I rarely do anything stupid. It was just by happenstance that this dowell rod jumped out in the middle of the floor right where I was walking. Darn gremlins. Usually I'm Mr. Safety because I've seen my share of injuries.
I knew someone who cut- off four fingers on different occasions. He should have quit after one. It wasn't a Lays potato chip commercial.

Years ago a friend of mine cut his finger off ... it was horrible as I was there .. at once I thought of a dear friend of mine whos a carpenter and a magician he lives in spain ... I called him and expressed my thoughts and fears that this would happen to him , it made him afraid really afraid just the thought of it , since then he told me that he asked his boss that he never wanted to cut wood again , his boos was understanding and gave him fixing and welding work and everybody lived happyly ever then ..( a true story ).
I'm glad that youre are both safe jay and hector .

I've seen this in High School Wood shop with the teacher. The lesson to be learned is "Table Saws are dangerous and require your full attention."

I had a magician friend in Central Illinois that cut the end of his finger off and it landed on the floor. Before he could recover it his dog ran over and swallowed it.

hahahahahahahahahahahah! I shouldn't laugh but that was too funny! I'm sure he'd love to hear that one too....LOL
My dad's friend cut a few of his fingers off with a saw.....a year later they had a party to commerate the anniversary, and I remember the house being decorated with Christmas lights......though they were in the form of fingers.....and all the refreshments were "finger food." He had a great sense of humor about it.

Yesterday during his talk at The Magic Circle Paul Daniels found a TT in one of his props and put it on his 'cut off' finger

Wasn't that how Harold Lloyd invented thumb tips, he had a prosthetic on his thumb so producers would hire him. Being a magician, he developed tricks around it.
----------------
Of course, there's Meir Yedid who tempted the fates by doing his Finger Fantasy. Then he had a car accident and lost some corresponding fingers.

How ignorant. So someone that has stopping their pulse as part of their act is tempting the fates and may die of a heart attack?
Meir was in the car accident when he had his famous act. He had to relearn it with his other hand.

Harold Lloyd was a magician? This is the same Harold Lloyd that made those great silent comedies?
Oh, and what happened to his thumb?
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
