Wiz Kid Qua-Fiki's "Escapes For Teens" has a chapter on single rope escapes and another chapter on double rope escapes (also video clips are available showing some of the escapes). It's on my site in Qua-Fiki's Corner.

What I am looking for is a routine where the magician links the thumbs of 2 specs and his thumbs with a string and then with following gags links and unlinks himself with spec hands and with several objects ( a chair, a handbag etc): very funny......

That is the thumb-tie. There are many different versions and methods, including wire, twine, plastic ties, and electrical tape.

Irv Weiner's Red Tape Thumb Tie, available from Dan Tong is my favorite:

Why don't you just type it for me, so everybody understands what you are talking about. I can't seem to hit all the keys on the keyboard.

Can you type full sentences?

Thank you very much Guys for your responses

I bought Joe Monti routine and Losander's one: very brilliant!

Unfortunately I cannot find Jay Marshall booklet ( as I posted in the deal session of this forum if anyone want to sell or trade it, olease PM)

one source that I found is
http://www.lybrary.com/sixteen-thumb-tie-gems-p-903.html

it seems that this is a sort of summary of all the main thumb tie routines; do you know if Jay's one is in the book

thanks a lot for your precious help/Fabio

Sorry, I cannot do anything about the shipping expenses. You have the information, that is all I can do for you. Abbott's Magic carry some of their booklets you might contact them and see if they have the book and the postage is less expensive.

We are in the process of putting all Abbott magic literature online (abbottmagic.com) as an instant download. Currently we have over 600 instant downloads available but unfortunately the Abbott Thumb Tie is not up there yet (a quick search of downloads showed "Spectre Tie" and "Wrist tie" but not "Thumb Tie"). I will give it a higher priority and try to get to it this week if possible.

The Abbott's Thumb Tie I purchased included a metal gimmick, a good reason not to make it a download as it would be difficult to try and make the gimmick yourself. It used cloth tape that was tied around the thumbs. A good product!

That's the one, we did add it as a download.

The main reason for the instruction downloads is Abbotts gets several calls per week for this instruction or that instruction, mostly because of Ebay buying and selling of used Abbott products. Now when they call we just tell them to go online for it. We do have a statement with each one saying that they may not make sense without the prop (or something to that effect).
