Hi Guys,
I know that Lee Smith has already started a thread here, but I thought I'd put up some more detailed information as the producer of this project.
Filming ended yesterday and I have to say that some of this material is the finest that I've ever been involved with as a producer. One routine in particular, "Bag for Life", is a knockout and I predict that every worker will carry this in their number 1 set-list almost immediately. IMHO it's a stunning effect that's both visual and instant. Best of all it's easy to do and is another fantastic effect from the creative mind of Mark Bendell. Lee Smith's routine drew gasps at every group and he's now made it a big feature in all of his paid gigs. Gary Jones performs some superb material, that once again is relatively easy to do, but gets superb reactions. I honestly think this may be one of the best DVDs that we at rsvp have produced to date, as it features so many commercial routines that everyone will use.
We've also invested heavily in some new cameras and equipment, so I think customers will love the 'new look' that they bring to this project.

Can't wait. What kind of material is on the DVD? Mostly parlor type gigs or close up?

The routines are mainly close up. I am sure some of these would work great in a parlour setting as well.
We worked really hard on this and Russ did a great job making sure all went to plan.
You will not believe the quality of the new set up.
As stated he Unknown and will be material form the clever mind of Mark Bendell. Marks unknown to most (hence the title) but is one of the most creative minds in magic. He has been writing material for magicians for years and much of what material myself and Gary use in a professional sets are his ideas.
His routines are very simple and yet very powerful. They also will appeal to all skill levels.
He is not a performer himself and we was honored when he decided to put some of his favourite creations from the last 15 years out the the public and wanted me and Gary to do the DVD for him.
Some of the routines we had not even seen until to the day before the filming, but they are so practical we was able to use them and get great reactions from the very first performance.
I really believe this could be the best project I have ben invlolved with to date.

I am sure Russ will fill you in with more detail. But I think he would like a Blackpool release.

The footage I have seen looks incredible. I can't wait to see the trailer myself.

This will be our BIG Blackpool release!
I think everyone will be knocked out with both the quality of the magic, performances and also the 'new look' that we've got, plus quality of product. Looking at the first edits, tonight I'm a very happy man!

I have just seen a clip of this as its being edited and I cant even begin to tell you how good the quality is with the new equipment Russ is using.

I am lucky enough to have some great friends in magic. Mark Bendell is one of the nicest, most modest persons you could ever meet. He has a brilliant mind, and using direct and usually very simple methods, creates brilliant pieces of close up magic and mentalism. I am so happy that very soon Mark's work will get the recognition it deserves.

I wonder if I can get a copy the day before blackpool as a sort of sympathy token for not being able to make it this year ?

But joking aside I will post on here (work permitting) when I can and answer any questions you may have on the release of this material. I have heard from Russ, Gary and Lee today and the edit is in its Final Stages, what I can say is everybody has worked long and hard for this project to come to fruition.

Mark is one of the good guys and he has some fantastic ideas, I have used Bag for life at my gigs for about 6 months now and it is a killer.

Marks ideas are Brilliant some of these routines we had not learnt long before the filming. ( that was one of the challenges Russ and mark set) just to show how practical the routines are with a basic knowledge of magic and sleights.
When I was performing these live and seeing the reactions they was getting all I was thinking is wow, and that I am going to put this in my repertoire.
I am confident people will do the same when they see this material.
It is without a doubt the one of the most exiting projects I have had the pleasure of being involved with. Watching gary perform is always inspiring and seeing marks ideas come to life was just brilliant.
