Just normal walking around I have 4 dollars, 4 half and a dollar shell in my pocket. Once I start bringing sets it gets to be too much pocket management for me just for day to day with keys and other stuff in the pocket. This is of course from a non-professional.

As I don't carry much magic with me lately, I do have a coin purse with an Ike Dollar and a Sudbury Penny (for Spellbound). It's rare I'm asked to do magic lately. I don't know many people here in Augusta, and the ones I do know do NOT like magic.
However, I've had fun at the V.A. (Togus), when I go to weekly meetings...

Well, let me look in my pocket right now...
I keep my coins in a thing called a "Pocket Pocket," has 4-6 cloth made pockets in it and fits neatly in my right pants pocket. Wonderfully simple little thing. Anyway I carry in it:
Little Pocket #1 - 4 Morgans
Little Pocket #2 - 2 Kennedy Halves
Little Pocket #3 - C/S Coin with matching Half and English Penny
Little Pocket #4 - Dollar Size Chinese Coin, Half Dollar, English Penny
*Also includes 2 Bigger pockets sewn in the middle for a couple of closeup effects.
With this, I can do several effects, from my ReVisited to Grandpa's Coins to My Fly , from my new Ike & Mike's REVENGE to JumpMandu, including KrazyKoinZ Across, Well Blow Me Down and variety of my other Quickie Trickys, etc. This little thing holds all that in these few coins, and not one jingle...Easy access and as quiet as a church mouse. Great to perform and or to practice on a moment's notice.

MB that sounds like a very useful "pocket". where can one be found, or did you make it yourself?

For layperson, I'm gonna keep it simple with a One Coin Routine, have it penetrate the pocket and steal a half for a Sylvester Pitch Prodution. As long as I catch the "pitch", I have done my duty!

Wow. MB I'd love to hear how the pocket pocket works! Is it something sewed on inside a regular pants pocket? I went to the site but just can't visualize how its like.
Back to the topic, many I know carry quite little for a strolling gig. You really can't be doing half an hour worth of coin works on the run.
I carry around with me a draw string bag with 5 coins in it. And a jumbo on the belt. Anyone who isn't carrying a jumbo should certainly consider one!

I live in Sweden so I mostly carry around "normal" coins and if the spectator has any coins that fits then I will use them. I think that makes the effect stronger. So I got some normal coins plus a expanded S**ll with me all the time.

Glad you guys are checking this out because it's well worth it and at a great price as compared to some of the other stuff out there. It's made out of a sorta heavy black fabric, the pockets are sewed into it neatly and are quite accommodating, and holds your coins well and secure without much of any buldge to your pants, and it's quite comfortable and pretty darn compact, *Size: 4 1/2" X 3 1/4". Great little organizer at a great price.
It states it gives you 8 pockets...But technically the little organizer gives you 6 pockets but does divide your actual pocket you put it in into two sides. Again, the organizer/divider has two tall pockets in the middle of it then it has two smaller pockets on each side of it (that's where I keep my coins). BTW I really like this orgainzer for my coins. And yes LoyaLover, it's made to go in your pants pocket, which is a plus...You simply load it up and slip it into you pocket, that's it!
As I said earlier here, I carry this with me all the time, quick and easy and I'm loaded for bear. Also the pockets are not as flat or tight as some other organizers out there, so they work well with coins and some other closeup items.
Heck, you should have one of these even if you don't want one. It's really that good. Hope folks come back here to let us others know what you think if you give it a whirl.

When I go down to the coffeehouse or pizza shop here in Ned I carry my gear in a 5 pocket pouch.
I had my friends wife make a small 5 pocket pouch to my specs a few years ago for my passport, it works great for my cards and coins.
Been feeling confident enough to play around for the folks up here lately.
my gear:
5 Morgans
5 Walkers w/ 1 shell
1 C/S Walker/English
1 African Dime
1 English Penny
coin purse frame
2 decks cards and several packet tricks

Hey LoyaLover and guys, I knew I remembered seeing a pic of this thing somewhere. This guy used his for closeup effects (TT, etc) so it buldges a bit, but when used for coins it lays pretty flat. And mine is quite a bit more neat and better looking than his but this is basically it.

Depends on where I'm goin as to "which coin effects you take with you."
Normal days 4 halves and regular pocket change.
If it's a party of some kind then maybe in addition to the above: an English Penny, Chinese coin, Quarter ], Cig thru Quarter.

Wow, coincidentally, Hp, I took my Buddha Okito Box with me to the V.A., with 2 half dollars, and English Penny and a Chinese Coin. We didn't get much done at the meeting today! Pure fun! I love the Buddha Box!

So jearnshaw, just checking back...Did you get it, the Pocket Pocket? Let us all know what you think of this little powerhouse.
And hey, meant to mention that in mine I also recently slipped in a half dollar ex[ , and it takes up no more room. Been playing again with Roth's ['d Coins Across, still amazing to me after all these years, just a brilliant effect and not at all difficult to do. I don't do many if any gaffed effects but this one is well worth it and then some.

These days I carry three soft Morgan dollars, one of which has been ferrously-enhanced, one magnetic holdout simple device in a pocket of my zip up casual vest/jacket, and two matching 1973 Boy Scout National Jamboree copper coins which I bought as a magic-show performing Boy Scout back in the day. They are exactly the same size as a Morgan, and even have the same "edges" and similar "lip". Perfect for Copper/Silver effects, and who would suspect you have two of these unique goodies that match?
That's my complete casual performance outfit. I own a lot of gaffed coins, but find myself preferring sleights more and more as the years go by. The holdout is more an accessory....good for a final vanish that makes for easy clean hands at the end.
