I didn't record that one. I performed it as part of a show that I don't perform often, so it may be a while before I record it.
I replaced the Charlie Miller through-the-fist penetration move with one that I'd been doing for a few years. Steve Dusheck did the same move with a coin, in a routine using a cordial glass.

I got a version too. Improvised, nothing special about the sleights in use, but I tried to make more stuff happen than the usual in the pocket, and back.

I love that routine! I think many magicians would do well to study it, to better understand how to address issues in a cup routine. It certainly got me thinking.

Very nice Roland.
It's cool when the sleights feel so natural that you can just improvise. The only thing I would do different is to perform a total vanish of the ball at the end of the routine, instead of "putting it away" in your lap.

One thing the "putting it away" does is to justify going into his lap for the next load.
I like justified actions. To me, it screams "TRICK" if I see an unnatural move that has no reason for being there other than to retrieve something. You only have to "rewind" one step to figure out where the load came from.

I like the fact that Roland's routine was shorter than the others, but that is just me, I don't like long drawn out stories!

I totally agree Dave, but I would look at the techniques of Slydini or Gary Ouellet for alternative to directing attention to the lap.
