Know all versions of the basic SC Concept. What I like best is that this version kills with laymen and some magi for the ending.
I don't use the stolen patter but do have my own vegas themed routine. It's a winner. |

I have made quite a few one way casino rainbow decks that can be used for this effect. PM me if interested.

I have to agree with earlier comments that Las Vegas Gemini Twins sold by Corbin Magic is almost an identical trick, but weakens the effect because it produces four aces instead of two matching pairs, and furthermore these aces don't have matching backs. So with that deck, it is simply not possible to do the Stolen Cards/Kaleidoscope Cards routine.
There's also another trick practically identical to the Stolen Cards, called the Botania Deck that doesn't seem to have been mentioned before on the Magic Café. It is by Vincenzo Di Fattas, and employs exactly the same method as Stolen Cards/Kaleidoscope Cards, but the backs of the cards (which are bridge sized) show 52 different flowers. This of course removes the interesting storyline about the stolen cards, and I also find that the revelation of the two matching backs is far less impressive, because the flowers look quite similar to others in the deck even though they are actually different. Here's a clip with the official demo of the effect: |

As has been discussed, this trick has many authors. I just put my own version of this together using cards from used Las Vegas casino cards. Getting all the used cards together was great fun. It works a treat. I have my favourite force card as the reveal at the end. I absolutely love it.

Love this effect.I don't use the stolen cards script. But this effect must have a script as it is this together with the deck and magic that makes this effect so good. I have the gambler who was a magician theme and was thought to be cheating .....etc .I do a haunted deck to produce the two cards at the start. It's part of the patter of the dead gambler/magician,who's deck was given to me.

I never like tricks where you find the mate because you usually have to explain what a mate is first. Visually not interesting either. I started with Daryl’s Cancelled Casino deck, got two unused casino decks (for $3.50 + postage) that provided the “stolen queens” and kings. Faked canceling of the kings. Now the queens can find their real mates, the kings of the same suit. Much more interesting visually and makes more sense to the spectator imo for the second phase of the reveal.

Does anyone have the version of Stolen Cards that is currently sold by Penguin Magic?
http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S14596 Does this come with poker-sized or bridge-sized cards? |

I purchased two of these (Stolen Cards Deluxe version by Lennart Green) from penguin about 7 years ago. They were poker size.
