Like Lefebure said, you read reports everyday of someone being jumped and mugged or beaten just for walking down the street. These guys probably enjoyed it and joked later about how they got that 'nerd'.

Wow - I am glad that the worst reaction I ever got was a fake smile and sarcastic comments...

I think it´s all about picking the right audience.

Wasn't it all part of the trick ?
This is one of the reason's I always calculate to which person I will perform.
I wait for a approach, some openness, eye contact.
But it is true, I find teens the hardest spectators to perform for.
Once a deck of cards was thrown on the street but no knives yet for me.
