Im not sure if I am able to post this while remaining in the Café guidelines... Im sure the thread may be moved or deleted if I have overstepped boundaries. All cool.
I say this as, I am a contributor to the book, BUT stand to make no money from it at all... (which is fine by me BTW as I consider it an honour to be asked) Anyway....
I have read a few of the other contributions (One of which I have just this second finished reading) and all I can say is.... I honestly can't wait for this to be released.
Yes, I am a friend of Neals... but NO I have not been asked by Neal, or anyone else, to start this thread.... so, call this thread 'hype' if you want... but I am genuinely excited about this book!!
Anyone else placed a pre order yet?

Paul
Thank you for posting the link.
The book looks to be amazing and now there is a pre-publication price.
No, I have not ordered the book, and it does not appear I will be able to.
But I do look forward to reading the thoughts of those who can afford such a wonderful book.

As someone who has contributed to this book, I am also very excited about seeing it and reading the other contributions.

Mods,
Why do you continue to delete Scryer threads? I could understand the first one or two as they were pretty nasty in places. But there have been several innocent threads since. they just disappear. Can you at least tell us why???

I put in a pre-order, and received an email with the price and likely release date asking if I still wanted to order after getting those two bits of info. Me? I'm still in. Can't wait. Still kick myself for not getting the black book when it was available.

Can't wait either though am not going to pre-order. Since Stevens has received a plug, I'll throw one in for Richard Webster from whom you can order direct, especially if you are a non U.S. customer. Richard sent out an email to previous customers some time back promising that all who wanted one will receive one. Don't know if that applies to new customers though but I'd imagine it would if you contact him ahead of time and get on the mailing list.

I too have contributed a couple routines to Neal's book. These routines are practical workers that I have used professionally for many years. I'm looking forward to reading this book to see what my friends and other contributors have provided. This book should provide a lot of food for thought and should be a lot of fun to read.

I'm in the same boat as Tony Iacoviello.
It will be interesting to read all reviews though.

Hope this doesn't offend anyone, but the price actually seems inexpensive for what is apparently being offered.

103 effects for $235 = that is a bargain...even if you buy it for neal's work, that's only ten dollars and change for each...

Absolutely! 400-500 pages of some of the best thinkers in the field today, well worth the price.
There is no doubt in my mind that there is more than ample value in this book.

Is this mainly for readers or will apply to more 'traditional' mentalism? Given the huge list of contributors, I think most of it is not meant for readers only. I just want to make sure

Going by the list of names, it appears to cover all of mentalism.
Most names listed are not readers.
I see stages workers, intimate workers, readers, everyone there brings something different to the table (so to speak).

I was led to believe that, like the Practical Psychic books, it is a mixture of mentalism and reading. However, looking at the list of contributors, it seems to suggest that there may be more on the mentalism side. Perhaps someone who has actually seen copy may offer a more accurate comment.

Thanks, Alligator. Anyone who wants to can go on my mailing list. As I don't visit the Café often, the best way is to email me at esp@psychic.co.nz
Neal Scryer has sent me five more effects, so there'll be at least 25 effects by him in this book. Several people have asked me if Neal's including his signature effect - The Box of Enlightenment. He kept this back from the Black and White books, but he's allowing me to include it this time.

Glad to hear about the 25 Scryer effects.
As to the other contributors, are these all new effects or just rehashed from their existing material?

Great news on the additional Scryer effects as well as the signature routine. Any update on the expected publication date?

I am so excited about this book. Its been an honour to be asked to contribute, I chose to reveal a pet secret of mine that is as real as it gets for "psychological" subtleties. Its something never been discussed in print before and only a few people over in Germany were present when I touched on its potential in a lecture a few years back. Im very proud of the discovery and hope you will enjoy it if you get the book.

Oh! If Looch's contribution is what I expect it to be, then he is going to reveal a gold mine!
When he broach this topic at that time I was very happy that he kept it comparatively short so that not all attendees realized the potential of this idea.
Now I'm even more excited to study the book!

Hi Magicus. At least in my case , no.
I gave 2 contributions to this wonderful book. One simple and deep effect and an essay about performance.
Neal just told me that the book is looking GREAT! Sadly this will be his last book apparently, but the material that is inside is pure gold.

But totally looking forward to it
Seen a couple of contributions and there is some great stuff there.

I gave a routine after Neal asked me to contribute...
still feel a bit odd about being in it when reading some of the names involved...so I am doubly-excited to both be in it, and to read everything else...

You and me both mate... Im nervous as hell!! But excited to read all the other contributions at the same time.
No offence to anyone here but... "Neals Last BooK" "I just spoke to Neal" etc... kinda DOES sound like hype... which is the very thing that ruined the other Scryer threads... due to unwanted 'Hype' criticism.
I started this thread to discuss the book... my/our excitement for it... and eventually, upon its release... our discussion of favourite contributions etc... Please let us not give anyone the chance to say
that this threads sole purpose is to hype up Neals work.... as Neal, and all other contributors don't need hyping up... and is not the reason I started it to begin with. Dig?

I've avoided for the most part participating in the Scryer threads, due to where they ended up going. Like others, I have given contributions never before put into print. Also like others I am honored to place my contributions next to some of the heavy hitters of Mentalism. I am excited to read everyone else's contributions and posts regarding this book

Sounding better and better and I am just your everyday consumer with no vested interest in this book whatsoever. I can say that I will be buying it, however, on the first day it is available.
