Mine is a program of Harry Blackstone, Sr. from 1949. My second most prized possession is the instructions for Harry Blackstone's Dancing Handkerchief, with Mr. Blackstones autograph in ink, in the instructions, bought from Merv Taylor for $5.00, back in the good old days.

I also have a Blackstone Sr. program, nicely framed. I'd either have to say, my Mercury Wonder Show (Orson Welles) playbill or my original Stull Mental Miracle Watch.

One of my prizes and first Item I truly researched was my Houdini King of Cards Poster. While it is not an original, my research and digging did turn up that it is a first re-print. Out of all the reprints and copys this was of the first run copys. I believe my bond is due to my research. The other Gem is not mine but my boys. When they attended Kramiens Magic Jamboree the joined the stage contest, at ages 10 and 13... Stan gave them his personal Head Twister.. While my boys keep it in thier rooms well cared for, it is still a Gem in our house even if Dad is not allowed to touch it!

Interesting question. Prize possessions include the Servais Le Roy Levitation poster and Kalanags jars for Water from India. The jars even come in wooden crate with the Kalanag crown stenciled on it and are packed with torn pieces of Kalanag vanishing motor car poster!

Mine is a autographed Houdini photograph. I am a Master Locksmith, and Houdini wrote on the picture- "Love laughs at Locksmiths, so does Houdini"

Mine would have to be my small but original Germain items. A litho, the red one with the bat and skull, an autograph, a book plate, a program and a brochure. I also am very fond of my signed Henning items including a poster, playbills, photos and programs.

Nice site with lots of goodies, but your poster page would not come up. Kept getting a "This is some what embarrassing, is not it?" message

This is a tough one. I guess it would a painting of Houdini performing an underwater escape in the Detroit river. It was done by the same artist who did the cover art for Ricky Jay's Cards as Weapons book cover. My second would be a Doug Henning Water Torture Cell poster, which I got signed by the artist, a very famous NY illustrator.

I have a lot of old framed magic posters around the house, but my two favorites would have to be an 1894 Kellar portrait poster, and a poster with an 8x10 photo embedded in the middle of Doug Henning (not named, in clown whiteface with his mustache) as "Chou Chou" the magic shoemaker, done for a series of performances for the Canada Footwear Bureau.

I have had a long fascination with the fabulous magic inventor, Edward Massey. He invented the finger chopper - a fact not known to most magicians. It became so ubiquitous and the inventor was lost with time to most. My most prized possession in magic is an original Massey finger chopper.

I had one of those too when I was a kid(circa 40s), except mine was about the size of a 50 cent piece and I always jabbed myself in the leg trying to do the trick, ouch.

Hmmm hard to say, I've got a number of Blackstone Sr. signed items, a set of stocks built by uncle Pete and used by Uncle Harry in the act, a vanishing birdcage built by Uncle Pete and given by him to me, Mark and Nani's Gwynn sub trunk autographed, I don't know that I could choose. In a fire they all go out the door before anything else.

Besides some of my magic-wagon pieces...just got Wandering Mummy and Cleopatra's Hand -- originals by Harold Voit -- both are wonderful pieces...and I've been waiting for the Mummy for a very long time. I promised the person I bought them from to give them a good home and they now are among my prize possessions.

Those are 2 excellent additions magringo. Now, it's time for you to start a mini-collection of Wandering Mummies. Warner, Gerlitz, Danis... Sure, you may need to get a home equity loan, but it will be worth it...I promise.

Wizard -- part of my problem is un-opened boxes are mounting up... I'm buying stuff faster than I can absorb - but that's because I'm afraid if I don't buy them when they become available... I might not ever have the chance again... No kidding I have have 20 boxes atop the book case in my home office. My wife asked what they were for. I told her I was "selling" them. Ouch! My kids are yelling at me to stop buying stuff. Now I'm selling all my other effects -- to support my collecting habbit. Thank goodness Magic Wagon hasn't come out with anything new in the last few weeks!!!!

Ouch. Stung by the bug. I'd venture to guess every collector has been there.
It can be addictive, so be careful. Avoid hasty and irrational purchase commitments, and if you can, sleep on a buying decision before you dedicate yourself to it. You'd be surprised how many times you can go to sleep and wake up thinking..."Why did I think I needed that?"

I'm looking at my favorite right now. A Milson-Worth Card Guillotine in Prime Mint new condition. It's a beauty. It's something to watch the blae drop. lyn Johnson piece of pure magic. It's the Headliner in my 500 plus magic collection.
