Gentlemen:
This might be of interest and it would be easy to teach someone how to perform it. I'd suggest before the blade box. It's the MAK arm twister. Wood grain shelf paper, cut a slit, add a big handle. Pretty easy and makes it performable for adults.

I hope the link works.

...and this one is a straight shot, untwisted. I've found one and a half rotations of the wrist is creepy, but believable. Any more, and it's just a trick. A second person does the twisting to make it more believable.

It's just like the head twister. The problem is that is simply an illusion and detracts from the "real" stunts that may be performed in the same show. Follow that with a SWSW and folks just might think the sword is collapsible.....

And put it before the Spidora, headless girl and the girl to gorilla and there's no problem.

I'll do it in front of the blade box...the Mitox being that the gal didn't get her joints back in quite right during the last show, and needs to reset her shoulder before we can start. She does the wrist twist, and when twisted, gives a yank back with her shoulder to 'reset' it. Then untwisted, apologies for the delay, and on with the bladebox.
That is, if I ever get the box out again....at least I'm ready.
I just realized that making it out of translucent plex would probably work even better...they could continue to 'see' the hand in place. Clear plex covered with 1 or more layers of bathroom window contact plastic (to control the translucency needed).
