I know there is a lot of fans of FOUR TOLD myself included. Devin was pleased with the last four told graphics, and has commisioned me to design this anticipated release. I'm pleased to say that Devin has put an incredible amount of time into building even more into this effect. I wanted to reflect the effects power, and creativity into the Ad-copy and symbol design.
FOUR TOLD - SMART DEVICE EDITION the ad-copy graphics are finished, and expect that the release will take place within the next few weeks.
I'll leave the floor to Devin to answer any further questions.

Yes, my apologies I should have further explained, if your phone can download a free barcode reader your golden. - But even a barcode reader isn't totally necessary. There are other ways which will be explained. Basically, if you have internet access and your phone hasn't been thrown to the pavement in frustration it will work.

No this uses smart phone icons. ESP are not downloaded to your phone. The participants see what appears to be your phone menu and think of icons. The method has been streamlined even more.

This is going to be brilliant I love Four Told! I imagine this will be the first "Cell Phone" magic trick that I consider. I have never really liked Cell Phone magic before because it always seemed to me that it was the cell phone doing the something special and anyone who had the app could do it just like I did. Call me selfish but I want the credit for the magic .. Am I correct in saying that since the screen basically looks like like a menu screen the magician is the one reading the spectaors mind and not the cell phone?

Yes, it just appears you pull out your cell phone and show 4 or more people your screen and ask people to just think of an icon on the screen. Using a streamlined version of four told that requires no adding. You then reveal the icon each person is thinking of. Although based on Four Told the method is even more advanced and easier to do. We also give you a plastic chart as with the original trick, except this has a picture of a cell phone with its menu screen. This way it can be done as part of a stage show. No esp symbols, just smart phone icons, like music cd, email, favorites, signal bars, and delete key. All the icons are actually icons used in today's smart phones. Your phone menu will appear to be your actual menu on your phone.

This is not an app. You will receive a detailed manuscript and QR Code that will save a special JPG to your phone. So you are downloading a picture. Once on your phone it is there. You need only bring up the picture and it will appear to be your phone's menu. Let people think of icons on the menu and start reading minds. No website to expire. If you don't have a scanner, you get a link to the website and can download the picture to your smart phone.

No, this will be a Murphy's exclusive. You will also get a large plastic chart showing a cell phone so you can do this on stage. Two effects in one so to say.

That sucks. I love the PDF format so that I can keep all your stuff on my iPhone. Digital is so much better, as I don't have to worry about losing materials due to water damage and flooding as I have a few years ago. But regardless, looking forward to this!

Devin Knight’s original Four Told was a runaway hit. This new and improved version is even better and has a streamlined method that requires NO secret adding of numbers. It does away with the pad and uses just a few index cards, which are handed to the participants as predictions. It does away with old fashion ESP symbols and takes the effect into the 21st century by using cell phone icons found on almost all cell phones! Two different presentations for both stage and close-up are included in this new release.
One is a completely baffling impromptu mentalism effect using common smart phone symbols. Finally, you can take your routine to the streets utilizing the power of your smart phone. Imagine walking up to a group of total strangers and pulling out your phone to perform a mentalism effect using the common icon symbols everyone is familiar with. Additionally, these symbols will un-lock so much potential for performers to inject their personal style, humor, and personality in this edition of Four Told.
Four or more random spectators are shown your smart phone’s screen with five smart phone symbols, such as music, e-mail, favorites, etc. The participants write nothing down, they just think of an icon symbol. There are no restrictions. Each person could be thinking of a different symbol, or they all could be thinking of the same symbol. With five different possibilities, the odds stack up quickly against the performer. The participants do not share their thoughts with each other. Since these are all common smart phone symbols that they see almost daily there are no suspicions at all. This is as clean as it gets!
The performer begins to get impressions. He says, “Straight lines are more difficult to transmit then curved lines. If the symbol you are thinking of has straight lines in it, then please close your eyes and draw the icon in your mind. See the straight lines in your mind, so I can get impressions of what you are thinking.”
The performer then tells the participants to open their eyes and clear their minds. He then asks all the participants to concentrate on the colors of their icons. The performer then calls out two colors he is getting strong impressions of. He says, “If I have called out the color you are thinking of, please close your eyes and visualize it in your mind.”
The performer does not ask any questions. The participants say nothing; they just close their eyes and think.
The performer then takes some index cards and hands each participant a face-down card. This is done right after calling out two colors! This will baffle those who know the old method. Only after each person is given a face-down card, does the performer ask the participants to reveal their thought-of icon symbols. Amazingly, when the face-down index cards are shown, they match each participant’s thought-of symbols.
For a stunning climax, the performer points to several people in the audience or on the street and asks if they were also thinking of an icon. With no questions or fishing, the performer IMMEDIATELY reveals the icons just thought-of by members of the audience or other people on the street watching!
You can easily do this with any I-Pad, I-Phone, Android, or Blackberry device. Included is a QF-Code you can scan into your phone that brings up the special menu that appears to be your phone’s real menu. If your phone doesn’t scan, then there is link to the JPG so you can download it to your phone. This is NOT AN APP, so it works with most any smart phone device.
This kit also comes with an 8.5" x 11" durable printed plastic card showing a picture of a cell phone’s menu for stage and parlor performances. This allows the performer to use this effect for a larger audience. This version is comfortable for all as it uses non-threatening symbols and shapes. Packs flat, and is sure to be a staple for the stage, strolling or street mentalist. Remember all the participants are given a prediction index card after the second call. There is no one ahead or secret writing. The participants do not reveal their thought-of symbol UNTIL AFTER the index cards have been given to all of them! Baffling beyond words and as close to real mind reading as you will get.

Oh yeah! This looks really good. I'm not a big advocate of using smartphones to achieve magic or mentalism effects but Greg Rostami's iPredict is an exception and it looks like this version of Four Told will make that list for me. I just absolutely love Devin's thinking!

Devin told me this morning that only a 150 initial units will be available for the pre-release as he will be going on tour, and it may be some time before additional units of the FT Smart Device edition will be released.

This is looking good. And I love that it's a smart phone effect that doesn't require the creator to put it up on iTunes or the Android Market where anyone can see and buy it.

I just finished to read the pdf and I have to say that this is a beauty!
I am a great fan of Devin and with this new improved version he has created a miralce that you can do with your telephone and IS NOT AN APP!! So this means that you ca really use any cell phone and blow the people's mind.
The routine is really strong and I can see myself doing this often. The famous ESP symbols are now replaced with modern ICONS (credit to Jason for this idea)which makes this more familiar.The method is really simple to use, non complicated things to remember, you can really use it after you read the pdf!
I HIGHLY suggest you to get this, if you want to have a great, strong and play big routine always with you that you can perform anytime!
