This raises a question I've been wondering about: Do subscribers to RS know who those professionals are, now that the material has started coming out?
(I'm not asking who they are if it's a secret intended for subscribers only; I'm just curious about whether it's been divulged to RS members.)

Sorry, we (RS subscribers) are not allowed to discuss this. Hope you can respect that.
Actually, why not stop digging for information and just sign up? There's too much fishing going on around here for my liking.

FrenchDrop,
They give credit to the creator of each effect and where it's roots are. We still do not know who is running the show.
I personally think it is that guy behind the curtain in the movie "The Wizard of Oz" .

I hope that Real Secrets doesn't start a forum; the current blog setup is just fine IMO. If it were a forum then, well... Just take a look at this place! Two threads about Real Secrets and they contain mostly irrelevant and useless posts. Really, how many useful or informative posts exist on either of the Real Secrets threads here?
I'm perfectly content with how they are handling comments and suggestions right now!

The first exclusive effect for sale came up on the RS website. It is cheaper than market price for what it is and the creator is someone we all know. Shipping internationally is really cheap!
This product is the complete version of the bonus secret gimmick that we all had no idea what it was until a few days ago.
I can honestly say, if this is the way things will go with RS, I will continue to join until they kick me out. What a fantastic, fun ride this is.
James
ps
I am not trying to taunt people about not having a subscription. Anyone can join. RS is offering a trail membership for 3 months for $50.
I am really satisfied with the RS model and service so far.

My first trick arrived much sooner than I expected [I'm in the UK] and first impressions were that it was very well produced, but not really my sort of thing. BUT,now having used it a few times with non magical friends and family I am more than happy;so I am grateful to Real Secrets for broadening my horizons.

The bonus trick is very good too and has great potential for both magicians and mentalists.

For the bonus effect I use the handling as presented by its creator at Blackpool whereby a b***n*** changes in the specs hand. Very powerful stuff.

I know Bill, it is amazing. Jamie Ferguson has this need to make people think he is special or cool. However, instead of being nice or helpful or funny, he is just plain annoying.
I paid to have the RS material, why does some jerk get to expose it?

I'm not exposing anything. The bonus effect is freely available on the open market and has been for some time. How is that exposure? Anyway, yours is a moot point as I revealed nothing about the nature of the gimmick. All I did was try to be helpful by letting you know how I like to use it, a non sub would be non the wiser.
Sheesh.
Please let's not bring petty bickering to this thread and run the risk of it being locked like the last one. Deal?

You are saying the same thing Batsmagic said right after he was booted from RS. "I didn't reveal anything." Every little clew adds up. Pretty soon the whole world will know everything simply because of people's inability to actually keep secrets. I am not saying this to be mean, just making an observation. The irony is that the ones giving out the tidbits of information are the programmes biggest "cheerleaders."
This whole process would make a good study on human nature.

But the greatest part of that study would be you Bill. How you keep saying that you won't post anymore, and yet, here you are!
Your incredible albeit morbid fascination with RS and all the players involved.

James, I was not referring to you at all. Sorry if you took it that way. And I said I would not participate in that OTHER thread anymore being that I had nothing to contribute beyond what I had already said. I kept that promise. I agree that the hypothetical study would include me as a subject. Why do I have a morbid(?) fascination? That, sir, is a secret.
You are having fun with your stuff. That is great. I mean that. If I were still a subscriber I would probably like it too. If it really bothers you so much, I shall drop out of this thread also.

Bill,
don't drop out, sorry for the confusion. I am like a cheerleader just a 6'2 200 lb cheerleader that cannot fit into his miniskirt.
It's not pretty, trust me.
I actually think it is one person here, an RS subscriber, that is causing all the trouble. We all know who he is. His initials are the letter after "i" and the letter before "g" [that should confound him]

Let me state my previous message in a more direct manner: Based on my limited knowledge of events that have already occured, I strongly suggest that any subscriber who wishes to remain one resist any urge to discuss, in a public place, the material he or she receives from RS, including bonus material. The "team" has made it clear enough that is what they expect. If someone chooses to test the limits, he may be sadly disappointed. Furthermore, it is only fair to other subscribers, as some have pointed out.
If anyone feels that as a RS reject I have no business giving advice to current subscribers, let me just say this: I know much more about the programme than I shall let on. You see, I can keep a secret even though I am not obliged to do so anymore. Back into the woodwork for me.

If you really have the knowledge you purport then I will henceforth be more vigilant in terms of the level of information I post here. The last thing I would wish for would be to get booted out of the programme. I have reviewed the first effect here on the Café but don't believe I gave any secrets away. However, what you seem to be saying is that RS do not want any discussion relating to the programme.
If that is the case and if any members of the RS management team are reading this post then let me publicly apologise to them if they consider that the information I have revealed to non subs to date goes too far. My intention was to help the programme by posting my honest thoughts about it in way that did not expose the secrets.
I do know, from feedback received, that my posts have helped some non subs make the decision to join the programme.

The problem is that by agreement as members of Real Secrets we CAN NOT submit anything of any real substance outside the group! Of course most of what's been posted here has been unhelpful. What else 'could' it be? I'm hoping just the opposite: They do have an open forum for members, but I am virtually certain that they won't do that. How do I know? Because I submitted an extensive commentary and analysis of the first offering and it was roundly rejected as not worthy of going up on the Blog. No, they will keep any information very, very tight and frankly that's their right to do so. I have no problem with that, but anyone looking for an open forum on the RS site will be disappointed.
So, you will probably get your wish, for what I believe to be the wrong reason, but there you go! ;-}

After a rough couple of weeks in my personal life (One death in my family and open heart surgery on another family member), I'm back for my final comments on "Real Secrets". I previously said that I believe that the entire staff should quit or be fired. Under their rules, I really believe this. Of course, it won't happen; and if it did you would never find out about it. Five days after I was booted out, I received a welcoming eMail from the folks at RS! I was going to copy and paste the entire thing for all non-members to read, but I have changed my mind and I will take a higher road (but not the highEST road!). I also was given a membership number in that eMail that granted me access to the members-only portions of the website! Oh, shame, shame on the RS folks! The pariah of RS had access to secret and hidden information!!!! Heads should roll for that!!!
First off, let me state that they have now changed the rules, and they made two things that I did now become things that you can't do. Those two things are: giving out the number of objects that you get, and stating the names of the creators and contributors. Yes, I did those two things. But, as Michael Weber the lawyer should know, when a new law is passed, those that broke the law BEFORE it was passed CANNOT be prosecuted for it. Yet I was!
And get this one also- now they are saying that they CANNOT MAKE you do the things that they request! Here is a direct copy and paste from their eMail, including their bad English (yeah, I know, it really is a "typo", but professionals should not allow these things to get by them!). So they readily admit that giving away the RS secrets is not a forbidden thing anymore!
Here it is: "We do not to make you do what we command but we do want to be explicit about how important we hold secrecy to be, and to invite other like-minded and open-minded magicians to join our growing community".
So, yeah, I, a non-member, was allowed to roam around the members-only section of the site. How bad is that! Unfortunately, they did discover their error and I only had access for 8 days, but that was 8 days TOO MANY! How could something like that happen? Didn't both of the office people KNOW that I was thrown out? I guess not! Oh, oh- I just heard the sound of one head hitting the floor and rolling!
I'm done trashing them. But I will say this, and I REALLY MEAN IT- I, as a jealous non-member, highly recommend that ALL of you members STOP POSTING on the Magic Café. I really mean it! You should all treat your membership like the members of the PEA treat their memberships- REAL exclusive and REAL private! Don't talk about it! Keep your lips sealed! Don't let any of your cats out of the bag! Don't talk about something and then justify it by saying that it is actually available on the open market. Don't let anyone KNOW that it is available on the open market at all! Because I can guarantee you that it is NOT a well known item- you should keep it that way!! And, Jamie, apologizing to them won't be good enough if they decide to boot you. And I really am puzzled as to why they haven't done that. I suspect that you are using your real name- maybe you are not, but I believe that you are. I didn't think that they would boot me out for what I did. I believed that I was following the law. If I knew that what I did would be frowned upon, I NEVER WOULD HAVE DONE IT! But they threw me out regardless. I'm just looking out for you, Jamie. And all of the rest of you too! I don't think that I have anything more to say. Bye bye!
