I've loved this since it first came out ( long before the Café was around ). But I've had friends that didn't care for it until they saw Wayne Houchin perform it:

Many people thought 'so what' when ti came out. But once you perform it ( for women or couples ) the reactions will make you a fan. Now you can get full deck replacements, which saves big money if you like to let them keep the card ( they will want to ).

Zombie Magic, do you scratch the empty space and make it white like Wayne does?
Or do you perform without doing that?

T.A. is my number one "Go To" effect, and has been for years. I love it. So easy, so smooth, so Paul Harrisish.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

sohaib, Wayne does a great job on that clip, but I do it the way I've done ti since it as first released and don't scratch it. I think it looks great that it just 'vanishes'. But, I'm no Wayne Houchin, so maybe his routine is better. Anyone do it the way Wayne does?

I stick to the P.H. way.

I had a dream last night that I actually met Paul. He was working on a new effect.

Have to admit, I love this effect. Used it out in the wild for the first time this weekend, and the reactions were, for lack of a better word, magical. I only keep one gaff trick on me at a time, some are the final effect of a small close up set, other times it's a quick hit of magic for if I need an emergency wow factor (mainly used for the former I'm happy to say). I was performing for a group of young ladies, building up with rapport style effects, talking about truly beautiful and unique moments in life, The climax was Twilight angels. The response from the girls effected ME greatly. Possibly for the first time I walked away feeling I had become the magician I always wanted to be.

That was me. I was rather nonplussed by the effect until I saw the Wayne Houchin video. I went ahead and picked up a full deck of the mandolin back's so I could start doing it.

I got the whole set of mandolins also. I think it is a very strong effect but have no idea if its better to scratch or not.

Can anyone explain the reasoning for scratching off some of the card? I don't see how this even makes sense, let alone enhances the effect.
..."and behold the angel has left the card (and to prove it's NOT magic you can see the damaged area) and now he has returned to the card (perfectly integrating himself as if actually printed on the card).
If the angel can return to the card without damaging that areea. surely he can leave the card in the same way. I must be missing something (and it wouldn't be the first time).
How does tearing out an angel shaped area enhance the effect?
