What is your hardest challenge, face painting or balloon twisting? Some artist are gifted the talent between the two more than others. I only do the basics between the two. Since I am not an expert drawer, my biggest challenge is face painting. What makes it harder is when I am painting a face, and the other kids are so close to me blocking my view or distracting the one getting their face painted.

For me the hardest challenge is face painting. I tried it but really messed it up. That's why I failed arts in highschool
So give me a balloon any time Or let me work with glitter tattoos, so I only have to colour between the lines

I never tried glitter tattoos before. But recently I added stencils to my face painting. It really speeds up the job.

It is easy to make glitter tattoos. And if someone is looking for a balloon artist and a face painter I can offer them glitter tattoos instead And when I offer them an additional magic trick most of them book me

I wish the stencils for the glitter tattoos were always reusable.

First of all, if you are going to do either balloons or face painting, please do not, as I have seen so many other magicians do,
approach it as a simple money making throw away.
I'm a magician, started 34 years ago, but as I grew as an entertainer I began to explore other facets of the arts.
I was already a gore and horror make-up artist, so face-painting was a natural evolution, but then I met some phenomenal
balloon artists/clowns that opened up my eyes to the joy that could be had through those little tubes of latex. The bottom
line is practice, practice, practice!!!! I've taught people face painting basics in only a few days then spent months helping
them with subtleties, no glitter tattoos, no stencils. I've done the same thing with balloons, but it's all about baby steps.
I have struggled for years to help people improve their skills, and I will always attempt to help. Glitter Tattoos, and
stencil painting are pale imitations of the art it has taken others of us so very long to learn. If you are willing as a
magician to put in countless hours learning a single illusion/effect, why are these other arts not deserving of the same amount of time.

Dynamike,
I thought I made it clear, however I'll try again.
I am expressing a simple plea, which ever way you, or anyone new to
face painting or balloons twisting, decides to go, commit to learning
like you would any trick you currently perform. As an all around entertainer,
Magician, Balloon Entertainer, and Face Painter, I know it is possible to do all
of them well.
There are great resources available for anyone wanting to enhance or advance
their skills. As a business owner I have been severely undercut by other
local magicians who will throw in "face painting" or "balloon twisting" for a few bucks more
than they would normally go out, and the end result is atrocious. The customers love the magic
but find everything else lacking, it hurts the community as a whole.
No, this does not directly address your original post, but it does speak to some of the subsequent
posts.

IOW, devote the same amount of time to learning the new craft as you did learning magic. Don't do the absolute minimum amount of work (like using a stencil or doing the basic simple one balloon stuff.)Just so you can make more money
As least that was what I got from it.
