Most cities in Arizona don't even know what busking is; basically you're safe as long as you're not actually selling something.

Forget malls or larger shopping centers with rent-a-cops, they're less polite than the actual police... generally private property is out.

Several cities in Arizona have decent spots:

Mesa: Main street from Mesa Drive west to Country Club
Tempe: Anywhere around the campus, really. Stadiums on game days.
Also University Avenue by U of A.
Phoenix: Downtown, don't block traffic flow.

I have no idea of the busking environment in Tucson or the other parts of the state. Sedona might be good, never tried.

You'll have to reconnoiter the areas to pick a decent pitch; also expect to have to educate your audience on how to participate!

New Mexico I can't speak to. Good luck!

Anytime. Devious deserves a shout out for the info on University Avenue by U of A; he's an old time desert rat himself.

But yeah, busking is really unknown out here in AZ... lots of garage bands and some twisters, but I'm the only street magi I've ever run across.

Also only one of very few active professionals. I know there's at least one other gentleman here on the forums who lives/works in... I want to say either Tucson or Yuma- he might be able to provide info on that area, but I have no idea if he busks or not.
