Wow !! So sad to hear.
He did soo much for music.
One example is he discovered one of my all time favorite groups, Paul Revere and The Raiders, he even gave them thier own TV show, Where The Action Is.
I still miss American Bandstand.
Bob.

I met the man once in the 1970's. I was hanging out at a recording studio where he was producing and starring on a radio show. He was amazingly smooth doing cold reading of unrehearsed scripts. Very professional and surprisingly a nice guy. Many successful people aren't nice people, but I had no issues with him. He was nice to me, and he only knew me for about an hour.

I think many of us who remember Dick Clark from our youth resented your calling him a Dick in the wake of his passing. You thought it was funny, that's fine. But understand that many of us thought it was the epitome of unfunny. You have a right to your funny stuff and to have fun with it by your standards, but I don't have to be amused by it. That's all.

What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

What did I miss? There was a post I was responding to with my above post. Now it's gone, in case you're wondering where I was coming from. Maybe these last two of mine will go poof too?

Dick Clark was one of those rare celebrities about whom nothing bad could be said.

I've heard his wife actually traveled with him everywhere he went.

An all-around decent guy, and a pleasure to watch no matter what he did.

He will be missed.
