This is a great topic with some fantastic posts, full of encouragement.... I might start doing some magic for others, too ...Besides my wife (she needs a break), my grandchildren and a few close friends...

I've been a "closet magician" afraid of getting caught or "do it again" request(s)anxiety for a long time.

Thank you all for the words of wisdom!

Rory,

As a grandparent, I salute you sharing with your g-kids. I know about that do it again. As someone who works in a school, I have to balance showing magic with my many other roles.

Talked to the general manager, since the decision was up to him. He said he's not insterested. They already have a clown. Well. Il l keep trying. A bit bummed. Ron told him how great I did.

Kevin, you did great. You saw this going in, use it as a very beneficial stepping stone. You're on their radar now, and that clown may very well be up on his toes now, too, if he wasn't already. Continue forward in the great positive strides you've making many of these days. Consider this performance a good introduction to the field- information and experience you can cite now. Keep an eye out for venues- libraries, festivals, markets, fairs, wherever you think you might be able get an opportunity- I encourage thinking outside the box in terms of applicable venues, too. Onward!

Thank you laurie . this was my worst fear coming true. I know how weak I am/sound, but I'm having a really hard time accepting to this.I'm not myself. I'm not kevin. I just can do others moves. Performing that day gave me the best feeling. But instead of motivating me, it's holding me back. I can only be as good as myself, and I'm not good enough. I'm nothing compared to david stone, roth or ponta. I constantly beat myself up. I can't tell people what I'm doing with my job yet with frenchdrop. I certainly ask myself why do I deserve it. And I don't feel I'm worth it . It was my dream ... Sigh....it was my dream losing 101 lbs, I did it too. I also hate how I look and feel even more self conscious, even though I have decent muscle and the bodyfat reads 9%. (used to be 30%} . I tell myself everything is ok, others do too, but I can't believe it! often I feel like 2 songs do it alone and the pursuit of happiness both by kid cudi.

I also find a lot of fun and stress relief with music including songs from animated movies. Movie and sleight of hand magic grabbed me when I was younger.
They still both work their magic on me.

Speaking of fear, went to see the Raven (no relation to the coin prop)over the weekend. Poe could really capture the human emotions.

Using our magic to illicit emotions from our audiences....priceless

First we imitate, then we emulate...then we create...

I'm going to do this and get a job, vounteer position, anything. Went to peter pipers today. They do kids parties. But said they have a playground and don't usually hire clowns or magicians. He says I could try red robins. I tried it years ago. I am much better than I was 4 years ago, though. Nothing good ever comes easy.
