I've visited The Magic Café several times over the last year...hat a great resource this place is! This week I decided to stop lurking about and join the club. Already I wish I would've joined up a long time ago...
I'm a dabbler, but I don't want to be a hack. I will probably never make a living with magic, but I want to learn how to do whatever I do professionally so I won't be responsible for screwing things up for those of you that are making a living with it. By trade, I'm a preacher (bet you hadn't guessed that already), and although not everyone agress, I love to use magic to help with object lessons - particularly with kids.
My dad fiddled with magic when we were kids, but when my parents divorced I lost interest in most things magical. A Christian illusionist was in our area about a year ago, we struck up a friendship and he relit the magic bug that had sat dormant in me for 30 years - maybe I'm just beginning to enjoy my second childhood, but I'm glad that Will infected me with the magic bug and that Kent keeps me well supplied and constantly looking for more.
I look forward to learning from everyone here and just wanted to say, "howdy"
I don't know that I have much to add to the forums yet, but I'm looking forward to hanging out here and learning more and more!

Welcome Preacherman,
The great majority of members here are not Professionals, so don't worry about that.
Glad you found your way back into Magic.

I love seeing a good object lesson being illustrated with magic (I’ve seen some bad ones, too).
I can still remember watching a magician at VBS when I was a kid. They DO make a difference!
Welcome to Café!
You don't need to be psychic to predict the future. Any mother who's ever spotted her ten year old hauling his skateboard onto the trampoline KNOWS what's about to happen!
