I would love to have a spectator buy a piece of candy from a vending machine and have them find their folded up dollar bill inside the bar of candy. So - that is something else which I think about alot.

Bob (Joe ;-),

In Life Savers Michael Weber has a trick where a borrowed ring vanishes, and you go to one of those gumball-style machines that sells round plastic boxes with a ring or other small object. You put in a quarter, turn the crank, and out comes the box, which has the spectator's ring in it.

You could use Josh's method for the bill and Michael's technique for the gumball machine, and you'd have your trick. Well, not exactly the same. But pretty close.

How about this: 3 card Monte, using snappers
I bought this and love the effect, and the quality.

That is actually a cool routine Edshern, thank you! Do they 'snap' easily?

Nice fusion but I see a major problem in this prop being overly popular - it's in the repertoire of every magic set for kids, available at every fair and described in oh so many books.

Most everyone I ever ran into knows this.
It was so popular in every school using the bic pen cap.
Just never seen the Monte idea makes it more interesting.
And being wood makes it different and more appealing.

Snapper 2000 in brass is a good version because for all those that think they know how it is done they are in for a surprise to find out they are wrong.

Lubor Fiedler has a new (?) trick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UplOOFRSU_4 - Chameleon Cards Plus.

Looks good and the advertisement sais it is easy to do. However the way the performer is holding the cards (which also look a bit 't****', but that could be just me thinking as a magician ) arouses a bit of suspicion imho ... . Anyone has this and is willing to post a review?

This one also looks great: http://www.tricksupply.com/product-p/10.908.htm - Phantom Pen. A bit expensive but from what I read in the description it is basically self-working (?) and it works with a battery?! The only review I could find was http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=125525&forum=109 - so not for real life performances for professional magicians but perhaps it is something we, collectors, would like?

The card effect looks pretty cool. Phantom Pen is a clever method but does require some set up. Lubor "likers" will enjoy having it in their collection.

I like the card trick! But I must agree the handling of the cards doesn't look so natural...

Thanks for the tip, Pete. I will look into the Michael Weber trick you mentioned (at the top of this page).

Hello,

I know the channel, from japan I believe, and I tried the papercraft illusion... It's pretty cool, but not as deceptive as on the video, I was a little disapointed. But he has also other cool illusions with plans, with some impossible objects, check it out!

Here's a competitor to Card Changer (a little better in my opinion) called Flick Change Frame (or by the mundane name of Jumbo Card PVC Frame):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uaVRnfbYIA

It's quite inexpensive and can be purchased here (among other places):

I forgot how cool this classic Ed Massey effect is:
http://www.martinsmagic.com/?nd=full&key=3602&myaf=af_mm

It's been released by many manufacturers since Massey's version, but the above is one of my favorites. Looks incredible in person. Here is a demo of one of the more recent models:

This is really amazing. Just watch the subway train at the link below, and mentally think which direction you want the train to go: right or left. It will magically change direction at your will!

That is amazing alright. Have you seen the one that has a spinning girl on one foot that also will change direction buy thinking about it? It is even more amazing. I'll try to find and post it. I have it in some folder here.

Ok found it online check it out this girl will spin right or left. Might have to look down to her feet sometimes to get her to change very good illusion. Also you can get her to alternate swinging leg left and right not spinning in a circle.

I must have gotten their last one. The amazing thing is that I ordered Saturday and it arrived today, California to NJ! I love SEO. Always great service at least for me.

The trick is fantastic. It made me chuckle when I saw the gaffs - its so Fielder like that I should have figured it out. It's what you said earlier about him combining ideas. I wouldn't call it Tenyo-like but clearly a Fiedler trick tried and true.
