I am sure this has been asked before, so I apologize if I'm repeating...

What is the best thread to float a spinning plate? The backdrop is flat black, and the lighting is from above...

The closest audience member is about 10 feet away.

Try Fearson's X2 stage thread, but it will all depend on the weight of the plate (which is what I think Jimhlou was getting at).

I would not suggest you do this with the light from above. Poor lighting set up.

For suggestions on lighting thread, check into Losander's DVDs.
