Here's the latest from Ellusionist, Rob Greenlee's "Lockdown" - http://www.ellusionist.com/lockdown-dvd-by-rob-greenlee.html?trk_msg=7J4IQABRCOPKPC3JCL2DR0MRBG&trk_contact=6APN28R4TRAP6SROBU7OHQDCPK&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=http%3a%2f%2fwww.ellusionist.com%2flockdown-dvd-by-rob-greenlee.html&utm_campaign=72+Hours+Only!+FREE+LTD+Decks+%26+2+New+Releases+-+Blackmail+%26+Lockdown

Got gum?

In an instant a SIGNED dime passes into a SEALED pack of gum. Another sweet trick from the creator of best-selling Ziplocked.

The effect is quick, visual, and you will be able to perform shortly after your DVD arrives. A special gimmick is INCLUDED.

More info:

DVD Only. Special gimmick included, fits on your key-chain

• Easy to perform, very visual
• Sets up in three seconds
• Ends clean

Note: Due to the nature of the gimmick included, this effect should only be purchased by those over the age of 18. [not sure what that means...]

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

OK, this one really has me stumped. Looks fabulous, from the demo. It also looks like the coin is only signed by the spectator (?). Unless something has been left out of the description and demo, I don't have a clue.

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Notice how he doesn't let the spec touch or closely examine the pack of gum after the vanish. I'm guessing you have to be 18 because the gimmick may cut you. Though, the effect doesn't look to bad. Could get expensive to perform if during a strolling gig.

Is it just me, or is participation and commenting on TheMagicCafe down a little lately?

Not down, just being real. You go through a pack of gum each time you perform this. I guess this would be one of those effects you do on a special occasion, not for a strolling gig where you would have to go through many packs of gum in one gig. That would get a little pricey for the close-up performers.

Sorry, by down, I meant that it seems like a lot of postings here seem to be getting very few comments lately. I wasn't referring to negative comments. Just seems less busy here lately.

Wow. I think I will defintley be purchasing this one. Im a sucker when it comes to vanishes, and this look's ultra clean and sleek. I'm feeling the same thing I did when I first saw the demo for TKO and was blown away.

I need this. Lol.

I usually don't like purchasing products from E becuase Im almost always dissapointed, but this just looks to good to be true. I need to know!

Good job Rob Greenlee!

I agree. I've watched the demo about 10 times and I really have no idea how he did it. It's refreshing to still be tricked some times.

But then again when something like this happens, and you actually recieve the gimmick we always say "that's it?" and a few days later, their for sale here on TheCafe. Lol.

I have got a good feeling about this one, it just might be a worker; and definitely something I would use. Everyone carries a pack of gum with them and everyone always wants a piece.

Considering you'll need a new pack of gum each time, I wouldn't call it a "worker." Still though, looks pretty good.

Could this be adapted to a packet of cigarettes as opposed to using gum?

Thanks

Very true, and it probably wouldn't have the same effect on people if you do it unwrapped.

But it could come in handy if a friend or spectator happen to buy a new pack of gum... of course considering if nothing needs to be constructed onto the pack of gum.

Really?

I honestly don't think it looks that great...
Maybe I am the odd guy out here...

Just seems obvious to me and not something I would use.

I've been training these cards since they were small.

I'd have to agree with you, Seeker. Looks painfully obvious to me, and not an improvement of the concept... Then again, that's just my opinion.

Obvious to magicians yes.. but laymen.. probably not.

If I can fool them with Pentro Penny, then I can certainly fool them with this .... or maybe the concept is dangerously close to same idea just my thought.

I agree that the cost will add up too quickly...even when learning and "perfecting" it

To me the cost wouldn't matter too much if the effect had a bigger impact - I don't mind buying gum in bulk for Ultra Gum because I can save it for those times I really want to floor a spectator with organic magic. This doesn't give me that same feeling, however. An interesting concept, but it doesn't really tick the box of a worker or the box of a special occasion effect. Maybe reviews will prove otherwise, but that's my initial reaction.

Thanks guys for the kind words I'm seeing!

I wanted to post to let everyone know a few extra things that I don't believe I saw on E's page.

On this DVD will be the effect shown in the trailer, that makes use of the gimmick included. There are also TWO other variations of the effect.

One variation is a coin through cellophane that is 100% impromptu. Takes a bit of practice, but you can literally buy a pack of gum off the shelf and do this with the change you get back. The only downfall to this one is that you don't get the beautiful vanish you see in the video, and the coin only goes through the cellophane, not the box.

HOWEVER, you could do that, open the cellophane to get the coin out and go RIGHT into the second variation.

The second variation uses an opened, pack of gum, and could be borrowed even. You take out a piece of gum, eat it, or give it to the spectator and ball up the wrapper and have them hold it. You then take their signed dime, perform the same beautiful vanish. The dime is now INSIDE the balled up wrapper that they are holding onto. You end clean and they can examine the wrapper, box and even the piece of gum they're chewing!

I've been reading a few reviews online and everything keeps leading back to: Ziplocked. Apparently the concepts are dangerously close together. But again, these are rumors and hard to tell if they are actually true. I'm having second thoughts again; I'll wait for a full and legit review here on TheCafe

UltraGum has been worth the reactions of getting a new pack of gum each time. Especially if you enjoy chewing gum.

LOL, thanks guys. The one on the left is Miss WV 2010. I've worked as a performer for the pageant since 2009 so she was gracious enough to make a cameo appearance in one of my shows. The one on the right is my regular assistant Tiffany. For the sake of completeness, in addition to Tiffany, Miss WV USA 2012, Andrea has been one of my assistants since last fall. You can check her and I both out on missusa.com and while you're there be sure to vote for her!

You can find a high res image here (couldn't figure out how to attach it) http://sinimagic.com/photovideo.php

Sorry for derailing the thread. Now back to gum or whatever we were talking about.
