Hi All,

I realise this may be a dumb question, but here goes. Are the smooth copper cups that look so shiny need continual cleaning to keep them that way? Do the cups patina like most satin finished cups or do they stay the same as pictured in his website?

Thanks all

My set has a nice patina. I bought them used and they had the patina when I got them. To my knowledge Brett does not put any type of a clear coat on his cups so they shouild all patina.

God's grace rocks! It makes a good cups and balls routine look pretty boring in comparison.

Hello JoJo,

They will develop a patina, but unlike satin finished cups, they will develop a shiny patina (see the photo). I think they look beautiful - and they are great cups.

Best regards,
Tilman

Im am tossing up between a Brass or copper set,as I own a brass set of Bazar de Magia cups
I think a copper set of Sherwood's may be a pleasant change.

The patina on those Sherwoods is absolutely beautiful to my eyes. Almost (I would say) "other worldly"!!

Thanks Tilman for those photos!

Someone quite a while ago posted a picture of the copper engraved full of patina. I'm somewhat of a shiny cup guy, but
those cups were beautiful. Maybe someone would know what thread that picture is in.

I may be mistaken, but I think that was probably a pic that I posted - I'll see if I can dig it up

I seem to remember Bri referring to that pic as "cup porn" - Ha!

Copper, brass, patina, shiny....

Get what YOU want - this is a matter of personal taste ALONE. The cups are the best, that is pretty well-known. But as far as material and patina, etc...., get what YOU want and like. Don't be swayed by anything except your own vision of the cups.
