I was wondering if I missed any real visual magic over the years. I only know of 4 visual instant magic tricks.

They are:

Acrobatic Silks - One of the end silks jumps to the center position without cover, just by hitting the silks.
Prisoner Silk - Silk visually jumps between two knotted silks.
Flash Vanishing Silk Wand - tap a silk and it instantly visually vanishes without any cover.
Abbott's Tri - Fly - Silk - Silk visibly leaps into the center glass of the 3 on the tray.

Silk on Sash and Silk on Rope kind of meet this ability.
Interestingly, they are all silk magic tricks. Does anyone know of any other visual instant magic tricks, that happens without cover of any kind?

I know of a fair number that are not silk effects, and when I get a chance later, I will post them here for you. Interesting subject that you bring up - you never really think of effects as being instant and visual in the view of the spectator/participant, or even the magician for that matter...

Well, not really, as the only effect I know of is the tranformation of a candle to silk, but you are left dirty. In the above list, you have nothing to get rid of.

I was going to list "Silk on Rod", but Tannen does not sell it any longer.

The magic act know as The Napoleons, have an entire act that consists of basically instant, visual effects.

Lot's of silk magic has the visual quality.

Silk through mic stand
Serpentine Silk
Blendo (some methods)
Color Changing Silk

There are other non-silk effects that are visual, too.

Gloves to Dove
Dove in Balloon
Champagne from Balloon
Vanishing Bird Cage
Snap Card Change

The list goes on and on...

Well, it's your thread, so I suppose you're allowed to change the rules.

I forgot a newer product on the market from Stevens Magic and UGM. It is the "Perfect Mirror Glass 2".

The effect is you simply pick up the glass and whenever you want a silk appears in the glass, and the nice part is the silk is sticking out the top of the glass. Very visual instant magic. Again a silk trick.

Note: Even though this is called a mirror glass, it cannot do what the standard mirror glass can do, like exchange items. And it cannot be used for liquids. Just in case you were wondering.

I have it and it is a space age material trick. Looks great and can be used with an assistant for a traveling silk trick.
