I has seen a few magician do this type of effect on their TV episodes.
Is there anything in print out there similar to this, where you are correctly able to guess the amount of change in someones pocket?

In somebody else's pocket? I'm not sure myself. I think Exact Change works in your pocket though..

In someone else's. I have seen a few perfomers do this, on tv so I don't know what is not being showed but yeah, pretty much how I describe it.

Well, here is a simple idea : watch for someone purchasing something with a bill, look at the price of the item, deduce the change they got. If they went to a cash machine before maybe odds will be better. With a nice presentation and a nice out if you're wrong (a trick where you need a number for example) of course Don't become a stalker though ^^
Try it a few times while filming and you might get a good shot, perfect for tv with a good edit :;):

Are you asking about the classic bit of mentalism? NW/PW w option of biller work if you want to put your prediction down beforehand. Hope that suffices to get you looking in the right places for the right help

Cosmo Solano has an effect called Pocket Change that may be what you had seen. You can check it out here: www.cosmosolano.com
I think Gregory Wilson also has a version of something similar to this on the market, but I cannot think of the name of it. When I do, I will post it here unless someone else can name it before that.

Doc, those are both for guessing your own change (which never made much sense to me!).
There is the old "Pocket Change" trick where you tell someone you can match the exact change that is in their pocket plus a given amount. It's really just semantics but appears very deceptive.

There is an easy solution if this prediction is written down before the volunteer tells you the amount.
Can't say to much here.
Perhaps you could ask a swami?

I also have "Sudden Change" in which you dump "change for a dollar" on the table in any amount specified -- and does not require an expensive gimmick. PM me for details.

Thanks for pointing that out J-Mac.
I see cablerock made mention of the Wilson version in the second post and I just had not recognized it - Exact Change.
I know the Solano version uses a gimmick that is about the size of a pack of gum, and I assume that the Wilson version is not too much different.
The "Pocket Change" that J-Mac mentioned above sounds awfully familiar to me - it seems that I read it in an old (pre-1960s) book, but maybe not. In the back of my mind, I remember reading a description and explanation of an effect where, as mentioned above, you match the amount of change in another pocket, and it was indeed all based on the way it is worded. Do you have a source for that one, Jim?
Otherwise, you can check out what funsway has, and be sure to check out his other material. Very clever thinking and some very interesting solutions and ideas for different plots!

Doc, I believe it is called "The Trick That Fooled Einstein" and was supposedly shown to Albert Einstein by Al Koran. Original name was "Old Wine" and it's in "Greater Magic". It used cards but Koran used coins with Einstein. Or so the story goes...
