Not bad Troop. It would certainly fool laymen.

That was very clean! I like 3-flys that don't use gimmick coins. The only thing I would change - that would remove any suspicion - is I would ditch a certain something at the end using one of the many devices available.
Great job.

Great job.

I agree with the ditching...for video, I didn't see the need...because no one is there to call me out on it haha...But in person, with laymen, I would agree that ditching is important to be able to show the hands completely empty....any ideas on a good holdout for an effect like this?

Looks good, but your right hand looks very suspicious before the first transposition/production especially because your thumb is up and there is some tension. Try relaxing your right hand or actually drop your right hand to your side before starting the routine. Keep practicing the finger palm position. The rest looks good.

Not a holdout, but you can do the display taught in Ponta's dvd. Where he shows only 3 coins using the p**s* p**m.

More over, you can then dump the 3 coins to specs hands, and have them examined. Then you do the real ditch. Which is plenty of times, at this point. You can even put your hands in the pocket

If you wear a shirt with buttons, Jeff Kaylor's TKO would work. As you toss the 3 coins into the other hand, one could go into the topit.

Another move that is easy: toss 2 as 3 into the other hand - they see only 3 coins move from one hand to the other. Then hand them out as you ditch the extra coin into the pocket.

Or..., if you feel brave and you don't feel the need to ditch right after the routine. You can do the Dr. Rubenstein's/Ponta thing and show 4 as 3, using the 3 coins to overlap and hide the one below. And when you toss out the coins for inspection, just retain one, go in your pocket and pull out cards/next trick. No need for holdouts, sleeving topits, etc. Just a though, for when you really want to go TOTALLY gimmick less.

One for the money...., 2 for a pass..., 3 for a Fly..., and 4 for matrix!

You could also use Liwag Subtlety to show just 3 coins at the fingertips very cleanly and without any suspicion. After showing so openly, just let the 3 coins drop back into the hand and put them in your pocket and done.

So no need to ditch, holdouts, etc. Really, if you're talking as my friend jed suggests here, "Totally gimmick-less" then here's a good way to do it, and I do it that way all the time and it's never questioned because the specs see clearly with their own eyes as to your very open looking hands with just the 3 coins.

I think a ditch is not really needed. you could simple drop two coin as one into the hand at the end as you count them so you could show the other hand empty.

Nice job Trooper. Your video and everyone's ideas and responses to this post has provided me with a lot of great ideas for me to try with this routine. Thanks Troop and Magic Café members.

I've just started working with coins and I've been looking for gimmickless routines. I may have to pick up Metal. Nice performance, thanks for posting it.

Honestly your hands are not relaxed, you can see there is extreme tension in both your hand muscles, and it looks like you are holding something in both hands, when you shouldn't be, otherwise your work is fine.

I like it, no B* with the last coin.

I know it's spelled wrong.

None of that *s of having the last coin jumping back or what ever. Just three coins go across one at a time. Quick and clean, fast and fun.......
