I have been looking at the I Don't Do Blue Material.

To be placed on the Tricks and Effects

_____________________________

Bob Sanders has a winner with "I don't do Blue Material". It is Eggslactly what the Doctor ordered. Actually "Mrs. Doctor of Laughology" aka Annie my wife, has suggested putting back into my programs more strong magic. Some of you know the act is puppet heavy.

The props are top notch and are put together with the working professional in mind.
The "Eggs" for scarf to egg actually look and handle like eggs. He gives some great tips that give you the extras that pro's find important. The scarfs..aka silks are beautiful...and with that pro in mind..he includes extras.

The routining with the "sucker egg routine" and the 21st Century Scarfs/Silks makes sense.

Since I don't include many gotcha routines, I may not do the reveal and out of the "gimmicked egg", but it will probably be used by a lot of you.

I have been using a different colored sponge balls, but may switch to blue to have another routine to blend into this act.

The dropper he includes can be used for the egg, but I may use the other set up he suggest, and use the dropper for one of my harmonicas, as I can "tie" my blues music to this routine.

Good bang for your buck...
and no you won't end up with egg on your face if you include this one in your bag of tricks.

Oh yes..disclosure....I have no connection to Mr. Sanders...except through post on the Café, and believing one stay family friendly....

Be safe, well and creative.

Harris,

Thank you! (I love the ideas it has generated with you too! Keep scheming.)

And I also agree with Annie. Silk to Egg and variations of it are heavy magic. Like many magicians, I have spent tens of thousands of dollars looking for other magic that is strong. It rarely works. To real paying audiences, Silk to Egg simply kills. The 20th Century Silk (now called 21st Century Silk) is an appropriate and necessary addition for those seeking a routine rather than just a trick.

I Don't Do Blue Material combines a new patter fit for all audiences with real magic that has real impact and packs smaller than a good cheeseburger. It has been very flattering to see pros around the world add it to their shows.

Just as a matter if integrity, the props are exactly the same as I use and are custom made for my show. They were not replaced by whatever is cheaper to increase markup. They not only expose to the buyer how the trick works but don't have to be replaced with props you are not ashamed to use in a real show. Unfortunately, too many tricks sold today have inferior props to expose how the trick works but not of acceptable quality to actually use in performance.

I Don't Do Blue Material includes:

18" Twentieth Century Silks (Red ends and Blue center)

Walk-Around Silk to Egg (with two eggs and two 18” Blue silks)

And

My Egg Dropper (which magicians around the world use for everything else too!)

Of course, the instructions for I Don't Do Blue Material are included.

I will be taking out again to a "regular audience" this afternoon.

I was thinking about using it in an upcoming close up contest, but decided to go with my more familiar work. Familiar to me, both in technique and patter and freedom to adlib. Stuff I have been using for years, not months. I can see this Scarves and egg bit slowly having the "Harris aka dr. laff touch".(that is making a great routine with props fit me) Of course as supplied and written this can already be good for you!

Be safe, well and creative.

Did this for a group of about 37 second graders two days ago and it killed. I didn't use the patter, as it would have been too "adult" for them, but the basic premise of combining the silk to egg with 21st Century Silks was definitely a winning combination, and Bob's props are top notch. Thanks, Bob!

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Bob puts out great stuff.

...and a bonus....I got a tip from Bob S, that one can also use 2 inch sponge balls instead of scarves. Just ordered some blue ones to match the theme.

I plan on using this a lot both in Friday's set show and Saturday's set and walk around events. The Convoy of Hope is coming to our area on Saturday. One to three thousand people are expected.

Oh what fun it is to play. My puppet heavy programs are
slowly adding more great magic like these props provide.

I never dreamed that magicians overseas would get any mileage out of this routine. They are performing it!

They tricked me!

What is left of this inventory will be offered at SEAM (starting September 13, 2012) in Atlanta. Since I am the importer and not a retailer, this could well be your last shot at getting a set. After all, I use them in my shows.

I look forward to seeing you there.

As many of you know I had a heart attack the first week of September and schedules have gotten changed some. Now I am doing fine and Lucy will let me back out on the road soon. Unfortunately, SEAM did not get me there except for Friday and I had to leave early.

Much of that inventory of "I Don't Do Blue Material" came back home to the ranch. It is available but when it is gone it is gone. Replacement cost means it either will never be offered again or certainly at nothing near this price.

Hope to see you folks again at Winter Carnival in a few weeks in March. I should have what is left of this inventory with me there.

It's nice to be on the road again.
