Not sure if he was the first, but Channing Pollock inspired hundreds of magicians to get into dove magic, and many copied (but never equalled) his performance style.

Well Justin, you certainly have a lot of confidence in me. Thanks, I think. Anyway, I'm not a historian but I do know that doves were used in magic long before Channing Polluck. I've seen references in Egyptian history to birds being used by magicians. Not sure if they were doves but probably a good chance of it.
If you're into religion, the Bible states that Noah released a dove that came back with an olive branch. Possibly the first toss out and return? LOL. Not really magic but it does show the presence of doves that long ago. As to rabbits, you've got me on that one.

I doubt you'll find an answer to it anyway. You can find out the earliest recorded but there is probably someone before him. Just like the saying goes.. "There's always somone better."
Well Dave from what I've seen you haven't guided anyone in the wrong way yet.. lol.. you seem to know your stuff pretty well. Justin |

Gee, thanks Dynamike. I wish sometimes I was in my thirties. I almost remember that age.
